The witches of Thessaly were famous in the ancient world and many archetypal witches such as Circe, Medea and even Hekate has connections to this mysterious land, a land of sorcery and poisonous plants. Each formula showcases and important Thessalian witch figure and is based on their mythology and magical associations. In addition to their use in spellwork these forces can be connected with as patron and teachers of the Craft, including the Poison Path. The pre order is open for the spring Poisoner’s Collection! The theme for this collection is based on Thessalian Witchcraft. Thessaly was a region in central Greece that was known throughout the ancient world as a hotbed of witchcraft and a poisoner’s paradise. Women like Medea, Circe, Erictho, Chrysame and others astounded the ancient world with their power and knowledge, in many cases being vilified for it. They are the original models for the modern witch archetype, influencing the work of Shakespeare and many others. This collection is a tribute to these miraculous women and each formula is based on a the myth and legend of a Thessalian witch. I have included a number of different baneful herbs, which Thessalian witches were known for using. I have also collected other resins and herbal ingredients associated with this time period and part of the world. Each formula is created based on a specific area of working. Chrysame, for example will be a protective/battle magic formula because she used her magic in combat. Each formula can be used ritually based on its unique correspondences, for spell work and to channel the potency of the witch for whom it was made. Hekate- Enodia crossroads powder is one of my favorite formulas in the new poisoners collection. It is a crossroads offering powder that can be left as an offering at the crossroads or cemetery for spellwork and collecting materia magica. Prometheon is one of the new formulas in the latest Poisoner’s Collection! It is based on the mythical salve used by the witch Medea. It contains mandrake, aconite root, CBD oil and saffron.
