Tapu Village was a painful scar. The guardian had far to many memories of the place. In recent years, all they could feel was pain. Fury at being betrayed so completely. Sorrow, that things had truly fallen this far. Joy, that despite this, humans still chose to live close by . That they even still visited the ruins.

The guardian kept watch in the distance, hidden by the glare of the sun and the stones of the mountains. Perhaps a few humans could see them: and certainly there were pokemon that saw them.

Damn it, he should’ve brought Rotomdex!  At least the thing might point him the right direction.  Right now, Kukui felt as he he was probably walking around in circles.  It wasn’t that he was lost - no, he knew the Alolan landscape like the back of his hand.  It was that there had been talk of a brand new Rowlet nesting area somewhere in the woods, and the professor was eager to find it!  He had always found the nesting behaviour of Pokémon one of the most fascinating things about them.

Suddenly- movement to his left.  A mama Decidueye, come to protect her offspring?  The Professor reached into his pocket to ready his Pokébeans... then spotted a flash of pink before the other came into view. “.. Hey, Alola!  I didn’t think anyone would be wandering this far in.. Don’t I know you?”

"Well! Look who finally woke the fuck up. It's good to see you, G."

Guzma, scratching his side without a shirt on, had emerged from his bedroom, finally. Losing battles to ten-year-olds suck.

“Yeah, nice ta see you, to. What’s the word in tha house?” He yawned. Being lazy always made him tired. But, now he was awake.

“Goooo?” A Goomy stared up at Plumeria, blinking in curiosity. “Gooomy!” He then proceeded to give a wide smile at the girl, always happy to meet new people.

“Gumdrop! Don’t run off!” Rui called as she ran to catch up with her wayward Goomy. She then blinked as she noticed Plumeria and cocked her head. “Have we met before? Ah… I hope Gumdrop wasn’t bothering you. He really likes to meet new people and try to make them smile.” She chuckled a little, quickly scooping up the small dragon, not caring about the slime.
