Pokemonk (because this is my life's dream). Omi vs. Rai. "Winner keeps the Mantine."

“This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen.”

Giggling, Kimiko nodded in agreement to the flat statement Clay had just made, though neither of them took their eyes off the nonsense before them.

“Come on, Bolt! You can do it, buddy!”

“It is no use, Raimundo! Your Pikachu could never beat my Spoink!”

“It’s kinda brilliant, though.” Kimiko said with a grin as Omi’s Spoink stumbled and took out the Feraligator next to it, eliciting mournful cries from Omi and an unknown trainer as Raimundo cheered in glee.

“Not that brilliant.” Clay grumbled, shaking his head. “And I’m NEVER gonna be able to unsee this.”

“Not a fan of Pokémon Hula Contests?” Kimiko asked cheerfully as Bolt, probably influenced by too much time around his trainer, began to show off, swinging an extra hoop around his tail on top of the one he had at his waist.

“Whoever organized this thing was insane.” Clay said firmly.

“No arguments here.” Kimiko agreed. Just then, Bolt’s cockiness got the better of him and his rhythm was thrown off by the extra hoop, causing the Pikachu to stumble and take three other out with him, leaving only a Chimchar standing after the dust settled. Clay shook his head one last time as Raimundo took his turn to cry out in dismay, earning a gleeful ‘HA!’ from Omi as a bell rang out to end the competition.

“Ooh, what a surprise upset!” the announcer said up on stage. “The winner of the 3rd annual Pokemon Hula Contest and the first prize Mantine are… Turbo the Chimcar and his trainer, Jacklyn Spicer!”

Kimiko broke down laughing hysterically as Raimundo and Omi both cried out in surprise at the name of the winner. Clay just sighed heavily and began trying his best to forget a good eighty percent of what he had seen that day.

And the sight of Jack in drag accepting his winnings was right at the top of the list of Memories to Repress.

Probably not what you wanted, but this hit me when I was in the middle of writing something else for this prompt and wouldn’t go away.

I've had these on my computer for about a year now, just gathering dust. So have some arts of Pokemonk!Kimiko in a variety of different contest outfits with some of the pokemon I was considering for her team.
