I feel a sense of emptiness taking place online. The Community Guidelines algorithms are trying to restrict my interest in Deadpool, and I’m trying to reevaluate the mental balance I one had between egotism and humbleness.

More Gifs of the Giant Ancient Gengar of Pokemopolis (my husbando/ f/o / the lover of my persona) because I want to (, since they didn't exist), and just for you guys! (And after a bad day of school too...)
(Also, buzz off. I get to be whoever the heck I want, so what you think is weird when it comes to me, might as well be wrong.)
Credits go to Nintendo and Game Freak, Team Ota (the animators), Atsuhiro Tomioka (the episode writer), and Imgflip(what I used to compose these gifs). And honestly, I look forward to a sequel to this episode. It's my all-time favorite.
Pokémon Anime Theory:
So. Pokélantis and Pokémopolis.
Anyone who's seen the original anime season knows that one episode with the giant Gengar, Alakazam, and Jigglypuff. It was never explained WHY, however. Some people theorize they were genetically altered by the ancient people, hence the markings similar to Mewtwo's clone friends.
But I present another theory:
They used Dynamax!
No, I'm not just going to state the obvious. Yes, I know Dynamax didn't exist yet when this episode was made. Shut up.
Also, spoilers for Sword/Shield. Go away if you don't want them.
So, the theory: Since I can't remember if any actual DATES were given for either of the ancient civilizations OR the Darkest Day (not the one the Sword/Shield protagonist takes place in, the one all the statues are from) I'm going to claim they happened at reasonably similar times. Eternatus is the source of Dynamax, and when it Gigantamaxed, it flung that energy all over the world. Some ancient civilizations probably panicked, but Pokémopolis went oh we can USE this and promptly made machines that could collect that energy and use it. The little Dark Device and Unearthly Urn are Wishing Stars, which is why they triggered the Dynamax. The markings are some kind of war paint put on the pokémon themselves during the process, to mark their loyalty to Pokémopolis, like how some soldiers would carry flags or banners into battle. There was still some of the energy stored away by the time Ash found the place, which is why it happened again.
Also, that Tentacruel episode. Could also have been something similar. Maybe that's around the time Chairman Rose initially found Eternatus? Eh.
"Beware the two great powers of destruction. The shadow of the dark device will grapple with the prisoner of the unearthly urn. The sacred city will be no more as day is swallowed up by night".
