Krówki
The popular Polish krówka candy is made from a creamy caramel mix of milk, butter, and sugar. These simple ingredients are stirred and boiled, then poured out and cooled.
The history of these caramels dates back to the early 20th century. Feliks Pomorski learned to make them from his uncle in Żytomierz. By the 1920s, he began production of the sweets on an industrial scale in Poznań. Despite great difficulties during and after World War II, production of the candies resumed in Milanówek, near Warsaw. Even after nationalization, Pomorski never gave up – he moved all of the manufacturing to a backyard garden.
The company exists to this day.
Ptasie Mleczko
Who isn’t fond of this light, milky, vanilla fluff dipped in chocolate? These marshmallow-based treats (translated literally, ‘bird’s milk’) have survived a number of changes in Poland’s political system. Today, few remember that before 1989, they were a highly sought-after product and not always available.
The history of Ptasie Mleczko dates back to the interwar period. Where does the name come from? It was coined by Jan Wedel – the owner of the largest chocolate factory in pre-war Poland. Ptasie Mleczko was a registered trademark for the company E. Wedel before 1939. Recipes for the dessert’s characteristic foamy filling, however – called a ‘milk’ of various flavours – can be found in old Polish cookbooks, such as Maria Ochorowicz-Monatowa’s The Universal Cookbook from the early 20th century.
Ive got another ptasie mleczko its my fourth one im in seventh heaven i can die alredy (but let me take these with me)
Childhood Obesity - Dooming Kids For the Rest of Their Lives
The steady rise in the incidence of childhood obesity in the US has continued to astound and baffle professionals in many areas of study. It certainly doesn't help that large amounts of high fructose corn syrup are found in pretty much everything sold in the United States, EVEN polish sweets. That, though, is an issue best left for another day. Obese children almost seem like they never had a chance at life, and we feel that is a sad testimony. Kids with childhood obesity are forced to deal with emotional abuse in the form of taunts and harsh words from their peers and physical problems like constant joint and back pain, arthritis and sometimes even Type II diabetes. This is a hard and terrible subject and we'll look at it some more in this article. Obesity puts a lot of stress on all physical parts of the human body. When it comes to the respiratory system, obese children are prone to potentially dangerous obstructive sleep apnea due to being overweight. There are also problems that interfere with their normal breathing. From being overweight a child or young adult can develop asthma. Other problems that face the normal breathing process are often called exercise intolerance. We all have seen the labored breathing that an overweight person seems to always have. This is natural for your body as it is working harder than it should be. This is just setting a stage for more stress on the cardiovascular system. Mostly the risks will develop in your cardiovascular system. It is known that obese children have elevated serum cholesterol and generally fatty blood profiles which include triglycerides. The early development of these heart disease precursors early in life is something that requires immediate intervention. Imagine your child having to take prescription medication to counter their high cholesterol. When adults take this medication, there are known side effects that they have to accept. These medicines may be complicated for a young child or a teenager to take.
Celina tries: Polish candy

Check out XULM's version too!
My friend xulm and I made up this " let's draw Polish sweets gijinka" challenge. So we did.
In order:
Prince Polo is a chocolate bar and as long been Poland's top-selling candy brand.
Ptasie mleczko (literally "bird's milk") is a soft chocolate-covered candy filled with soft meringue
Princessa is a Polish chocolate bar made by Nestlé similar to, and in competition to, the longer established Prince Polo - it's a chocolate covered wafer bar (here- coconut flavour. The only one I ever liked)
Sezamki (sesame seed candy) is a confection of sesame seeds and sugar or honey pressed into a bar
Maybe one day we'll continue those. It was fun making them.
Go check out XULM's sweets too!
