Pack member 1: the good thing about everyone in the pack sleeping together and none of us being able to keep a secret to save our lives is that we will know immediately if any of us gets chlamydia or something

Pack member 1: the bad part is that I don’t know who’s laundry this is? Do I own a sweater this colour? Is this yours? Did I steal it from someone else? Did it get left in my room? I don’t know and it smells like everyone anyway so I can’t tell.

Opinions on poly packs ?

Opinion is yes! I love a good poly pack fic!

I think it could easily turn into a nightmare if you run with the idea that heats and ruts of people near each other sync up. Because that would be so very messy and busy and you’d have to hope you had enough betas to throw food at you or whatever.

But other than that? So valid! Love the idea of a big shared nest! Also scentmarking would be a whole event. A part of your pack went away for a week? Now they smell wrong so it’s movie night where everyone is gonna scent them until they smell right.

When I read poly pack fics some of my favourite things are when they have a pack house where everyone can come and go and live but some people also have their own individual places. (Not super realistic in this economy but I’m not here for realism)

Or when not everyone is together in the pack so they play matchmaker between a pinning couple that hasn’t figured out they like each other yet!

I also think there’s so many cute shenanigans this could lead to. Like who erased date night from the calendar and replaced it with pro wrestling?? Or one of my partners ate all my snacks but it could be like three of them so I gotta interrogate them all.

What’s your opinion on 5 alphas, 2 betas and 1 omega as a pack? Would it work or would it be a mess?

Hi! I think with enough communication and effort you can make most things work regarding the number of dynamics in a relationship.

Just like any relationship it’s about learning to accommodate to each other’s needs while maintaining your own boundaries.

If it was a relationship where all the alphas are dating the omega and betas but not each other I think there could be problems especially if they were to all rut at once? Because that would be one very tired omega and betas assuming the alphas were okay with being in the same space as each other.

If the relationship is where everyone is dating everyone or most people are dating most people I think it could work wonderfully!

If all the alphas rut at once? I think it would be a little bit of a nightmare just because I think alphas are harder to feed during rut than omegas are to feed during heat. So it would take a lot of wrangling to make sure everyone had enough food. But you could theoretically carb load before and that would help.

I think scenting would be important for everyone but I can just imagine the betas whos instincts one claiming and being claimed aren’t as strong not really realizing how important and lovely scenting is? So they suddenly get ambushed one day by their partners and told they smell really good but would smell better if their scents mixed.

I think also the omegas heat would either be great because they have every need met or kind of confusing because there’s so many people that they love right there and they wanna be with them all? Depends on the omega and the pack.

I’m also a firm believer in pampering the betas who help during a heat or rut cycle afterwards. Because of course the betas can and often to participate but they’re also in charge of keeping everyone safe and healthy. So after a cycle? Beta pampering time. Individual or group pampering both work.

I also think it would be beneficial for most packs but especially an alpha majority pack to have a house or houses where everyone has their own room and space. Just so everyone has a place to retreat and be on their own. (Also huge couch is a must)
