I was thinking on something I reblogged the other day from @intolerable-sushi about how the omega body probably gets funky due to stress and stuff like a normal female human body…

What if there’s like a syndrome or something if omegas get too distressed or feel very abandoned. Ik that’s not a new thought or whatever, but like it starts off with normal ass symptoms like irritability and chills and a cough etc kinda like serotonin syndrome.

It has like 3 stages is what I’m thinking.

Stage 1: regular old sickness: cough, chills, low fever, headache, etc etc, and this ig omega distress syndrome or whatever can be kinda nipped in the bud at this stage easily. Just get attention or communicate or take time off whatever it is

Stage 2: symptoms get a bit more funky like extreme fatigue, loss of appetite, pica, and moments of ferality; their bodies are pretty much being poisoned by the chemicals in their brains and stuff so it would make sense that they can’t keep up

Stage 3: coma, organs shutting down, etc etc pretty much like a 5% survival rate at this point

Idk I need to think about it more, but let me know what u guys think. It’s more complex than I originally thought so any help would be appreciated 🙏

I made a pack w/ my alpha!!

I'm starting a minor only (exception if you turn after joining) pack with my alpha!! You'll be a guest when you first join, after we trust you a bit you'll be given the members role! I'd prefer if you were neurodivergent and/or lgbtq to join for comfort. We have rules that are subject to change so that nothing will happen to make anyone uncomfotable.

Thinking abt making a new pack... But I'm just kind of tired of people not talking, and ghosting the server (still a little puzzled as to why you'd join a server just to not interact in it, but okay).

If anyone shows interest in it, maybe I will. Let me know if you're a lonely person who'd like other people to talk to about A/B/O and just ordinary everyday things.

And ofc, only if you mean it. If you have no interest of actually talking to anyone there please don't get my hopes of making friends up, it would be hurtful and frankly tiering.

In your opinion, what is a good number for a pack? Also if you want to go into a little more detail, what ratio of the dynamics (secondary and tertiary) in a pack would there need to be to make an ideal pack balance?

Ahhh thank you for being my first anon!

Honestly, I don’t really think there’s one good number OR ratio for a pack- it all depends on the needs and preferences of whoever’s in it. 

Speaking practically, however, it might not be realistic for an irl pack with more than, say, 10-15 or so members to come together. While their might be some people who could manage a very large pack, miscefolks planning to have a pack irl should take into consideration space, schedules, etc. Having a pack larger pack online seems a bit easier, as long as you make sure to stay active and not let things fizzle out. Most omegaverse fiction I’ve come across is more or less along those lines, with packs being around 10 members.

This leads into dynamic ratios, which I’ve pretty much only seen in fiction as 6 betas + 1-3 omegas + 1-3 alphas, or 3-4 betas + 3-4 omegas + 3-4 alphas. However, that often doesn’t work when actually trying to form a pack, since a “perfect” ratio and exclusively primary dynamics aren’t realistic for most miscefolks. The vast majority of miscefolks are omegas or on the omega spectrum - which is so interesting to me considering in most fiction theyre the ~rare and coveted~ dynamic but that’s a separate can of worms lol - so packs in my experience usually end up leaning towards an omega majority. Due to the emphasis on a pack head (usually an alpha specifically) this can sometimes cause a feeling of your pack being incomplete, but not every dynamic is necessary for a pack to thrive! In an ideal world, sure, at least one person of every dynamic (primary and secondary) would be in a pack, but it all boils down to what feels right for you and your pack. For example, while some people might feel the need for variation in dynamics to provide balance, fulfill roles, etc, other people might prefer the company of their own dynamic and feel more content with a pack wired similar to themselves.

I do have to say, though - personally, my ideal pack number and ratio... is the one I have! Three zetas (including me lol), two omegas, one dynamifluid person, and our lovely alpha ^-^

Remember, at the end of the day, while miscecanis/lupus/animalis can be a big part of someone’s identity, it’s a lifestyle that we choose to engage in. Your pack is a group of friends - arguably an extremely close group of friends - who share that lifestyle with you. So don’t bring someone into your pack just because you feel like you need more members or someone of a certain dynamic - there’s no right way to have a pack, it’s just what feels right for you.

Thoughts on a 5 alpha, 2 beta and 1 omega pack? Would it work also how do u think the transition from friends to romantic would go? Im not sure between that in my verse as the main pack or having 4 alphas, 2 betas and 2 omegas with one being newly presented

Hi hi! You’re my first asker!! Also please note that these are *my* thoughts on it and you don’t have to agree!!

In terms of pack dynamics, a 5 alpha, 2 beta, and 1 omega pack would be slightly unbalanced during the few months I think. Because creating a pack itself is a hormone change, added with five Alphas and them taking the majority of the pack? Definitely some challenges, especially if they’re younger and inexperienced. BUT! Communication, communication is key and can make a pack of any size and dynamic work! The pack could range from routey and loud, to docile but playful and everything in between. The two betas would have their work cut out for them when the pack first started- Being the glue and all. Omega would probably feel a bit out of place, being the only Omega and may bond with a Beta or Alpha that had similar interests as them. The five Alpha’s wouldn’t necessarily bump heads, (if they knew eachother well enough), but they’d be questioning everything the other does.

But in few months time, they start to have routines and rituals and orders. The pack getting along and falling into nights of deep talks or snuggles on the couch. The Beta’s nestling with the Alpha’s or the Omega squeezing between them in the large nest. Though you can also do where they’re very unfunctional. Fighting, leaving without telling anyone, going off and doing dangerous things with friends. But I’m going to mostly focus on the happy possibilities.

In terms of romantic. Ima talk about a poly and then individual cause I don’t know what you wanted: A pack transitioning to romantic would be when all the members feel something in them. Something that makes their heart flutter. Confessing would be a small hassle due to a member feeling love for everyone but if all goes well, then they’ll understand, and the person would find out all the pack members feel the same way. Some would go slow with others, like one of the Betas doesn’t like to be kissed all the time, so Alpha 3 and 1 are so so gentle when they kiss them. Maybe even Alpha 5 doesn’t even kiss them due to being scared of it being too much, so they instead scent and hug them and buy them gifts. Omega likes all the attention so they all swaddle them in blankets and buys them chocolate and sweet foods. One Alpha’s love language is scarves and buys them all scarves and wraps them around their neck to pull them into a kiss. All in all, they’d start out small, with small gestures of love and romantic affection.

If you’re talking about two/three/maybe even 4 members feeling feelings for eachother. It’s the same way! Though of course the other members feelings can either be negative or positive. Like it’s weird to see but they’re e happy they’re happy. Or it’s odd and one wished their pack would stay out of romance etc. Maybe even jealously starts, but the transition would be the same. The other pack members also having to get used to seeing them all lovely dovey with things that couples do. And again, communication. Communication is key to any thing.

Talking generally here: Newly presented Omega’s will have a slight trouble in terms of environment. So their pack could help them feel safe with the added help of helping them tune into their Omegan instincts. Also depending on the age your dynamics start to present, some of the members might start to see them as a kid and form a parental like bond.

All in all, it’s *your* verse! You can do whatver you want! I hope I answered your question right though. The key to any pack transition and new feelings is communication.

Wedding outfits AZLXTO

omegaversetheory made a post of the colors of wedding outfits based on the three dynamics and it got me thinking of the AZLXTO version of the idea. 

A simple solution would be to have them wear the colors I already established as the color of the dynamics. Blue for αAlpha, Purple ζZeta, Green λLambda, Yellow ξXi, Pink τTau,  Orange ωOmega

However, one of the fun things about the omega-verse is packs. I prefer the idea that the ‘groom’ wears the traditional outfit of their family pack. Something like a Scottish family kilt or a pin of the pack crest / Japanese Kamon. 

The symbol would be pined on a colored outfit that matches the ‘grooms’ dynamic, and the pin itself would be in the ‘brides’ color dynamic as a way of accepting the new mate into the pack. Every member of the pack attending the wedding will also be wearing their pin they used in their own weddings. The unmarried members have a white version.

The old tradition (not ancient, like just last century old) says that the ‘bride’ should wear white for purity during the ceremony, but then change into another outfit for the celebration that matches their dynamic color with the new pack symbol in the ‘grooms’ dynamic color, so the reverse of the ‘grooms’ outfit. Though the outfit switch is becoming less common with time due to buying two outfits being expensive and the tradition of purity coming off as creepy. The ‘bride’ nowadays will probably wear their color dynamic outfit during the ceremony as well as after, adding the pin for the celebration...  or the ‘groom’ gives the pin during the ceremony instead of a wedding ring...

In the case where both are the same dynamic, they will wear black or white instead of their dynamic color, but the crest pin will still match the dynamic color. Otherwise the pin will not be very visible. For those that identify as non-dynamic (like non-binary but for dynamic instead of gender) the color is black or grey instead.

For those that plan to start a new pack, they can easily make a new symbol themselves or just not have one if they don’t want to.
