Atlesian Malamutes

This ship snuck up out of nowhere for me. One day i was joking like "what if Winter and Marrow were in a fake relationship" and then realized the comedy/rom-com potential these two have and now they're my top ship

STR Crossed

I have shipped these three together ever since i first gave serious thought to Tai's relationships with Summer and Raven in consideration of Yang and Ruby's births. It just makes so much more sense to me that they were all dating, and it just creates this rich potential backstory

Emercury

This one is also new! Before V8 i didnt care one bit about either of these characters. I realized that Mercury secretly pinning for Emerald would actually give a big insight into his character and bam im suddenly on the last AO3 page wondering why there isnt more fic out there

BlackSun

During my rewatch i fell in love with their friendship. I saw someone describe them as "right person, wrong time" and i think that perfectly sums up them

Ive also recently started looking into Neptune x Sun x Blake (do they have a ship name?) and i think that has such a different trajectory from any other ship ive ever had, and im excited to explore it

Arkos (R.I.P.)

Last but not least, during my rewatch and my subsequent Punnet Square AU i started shipping them again. They just fill in the gaps in each other's personality and skill set, and their future potential (with having grown into that) was beautiful

I also majority ship polyamorous JN(P)R, but for some reasons i ship it in waves, and right now the tide isnt very strong 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think the biggest question regarding Raven leaving baby Yang is: did Raven name her? I need to know if she looked at this baby and thought "yes, this is taiyang jr" before dropping her off or if her and Tai agreed on it together or if STQ were sitting around after Raven left and the best name they could come up with was "taiyang" but more feminine

The thing that really messes me up when i think about Tai/Raven and Tai/Summer is the timeline between Yang's birth and Ruby's pregnancy and also the fact Tai and Raven were married. Like i could somewhat get the time frame if they werent married. So heres a few ideas i came up with to help it make more sense

Polyam STR (my personal fav option)

Tai and Summer had a one night stand after Raven left and now Summer's pregnant (my second fav option). She moved in with Tai so they could raise the girls together. If they fell in love it happened after/right before Ruby was born

Raven got pregnant right outta school (so age 21?) and they freaked out and decided to go full domesticity. A house and a marriage and a good school district. The intensity and the suddenness is one of the major factors in Raven's flight outta there, and she was always too ashamed to go back and face everyone (my third fav option)

Tai and Raven got married at the Remnant version of Vegas while on a mission because they thought itd be funny/chronically make bad decisions/didnt think it was a real marriage. So legally they were married but reality was they split up right before/after Raven found out she was pregnant

Tai had dated Summer before he and Raven got married and they fell together again after she left

They knew Raven was always planning on dropping Yang off with Tai, meaning Summer and Tai had a extra year to begin falling for each other

Tai and Raven were always on-again-off-again, and neither had issues being with other people when they were off

The dramatic and angst filled period following Yang's birth where Tai was alone and Summer was there, had always been there, and was practically raising his daughter and now they both have feelings but it feels forbidden because Raven just left and how do we know if these feelings are Real story the show will most likely try to spin us

Summer had secretly been in love with Tai for years and has been kicking herself for never taking a shot before he got with Raven. Now that she's gone Summer knows she has to tell him. Things build on from that and now they're in love and have two little girls

I dont know if Ruby's last name is different because Summer and Tai werent married when she was born, they just were never married, couldnt get married because Raven wasnt around to sign the divorce papers, or if children take their mother's last name in Vale/Remnant (Yang took Tai's because Raven wasnt in her life)

Ruby isnt even Tai's biological kid (no shes not Qrow's either). Summer got pregnant pretty soon after Raven left Tai and instead of both of them trying to be parents on their own Summer moved in with Tai and they decided to raise the kids together. They fell in love well after Ruby was born (similar to my second fav option so im considering them a tie)

I had a horrible idea

So ployam STR marriage. Raven ran off after Yangs birth, supposedly didnt get a divorce. She gave Yang one get-out-of-trouble free card because shes her daughter

STR marriage, no divorce... Raven sees Ruby as 100% her daughter as much as Yang. She couldnt look at her at Haven because she looks so much like her dead wife. She was rude because Raven is rude in general

Essentially Raven not only has a portal to Ruby, but Ruby has one get-out-of-trouble free card

Which would be great in general but heres the horrible part of the idea. Raven saves Ruby and it pisses Yang off. Her mother can't be there for her but can show up for her reverse-step daughter? It wasnt even life threatening! She hung around to say goodbye afterwards! How could she do this to me?! Shes happy Ruby is okay but still.

Anyways that bitterness carries over till Yang sees Raven next which will be probably be years in the future and shes marinated in it. The cycle of upsetting each other continues
