Do you know. how rare it is. to find a portrayal of a crush/flirting relationship that evolves into FRIENDSHIP???? Like a really good and important friendship?????
Like straight up they did not know each other very well. The only real depth to their relationship at Beacon was the intrinsic bond over being Faunus. But then Sun follows her to Menagerie, and their relationship goes from “guy who thinks this girl is cool and does not actually understand what is going on in her head At All” + “girl who has recently decided that friendship is the root of all suffering and (now) thinks this guy is naive and an idiot for trying to convince her otherwise”
… to “guy who listens and is able to process and ARGUE AGAINST this girl’s trauma spiral while also supporting her” + “girl who is able to accept love and support from others and see friendship as a strength instead of a weakness”
like are you kidding me?? I love their relationship. it’s so good. I can’t wait to see what interactions lie ahead in volume 10.
