Aslia has nightmares the most frequently of the three. She wakes up very quietly, sniffling and staring blankly at the wall.
She remains silent for a moment, just listening to Hina and Lynette breathing on either side of her. Ro remains silent, hoping not to wake rose partners.
In spite of this, ro soon feels Lynette stirring. The catgirl's ears are twitching, her eyelashes fluttering. While Aslia is focusing on her, though, ro's startled by a soft voice from rose other side, asking "Bunny?"
"Oh, ah... sorry to wake you, puppy." Aslia hums softly. Hina doesn't respond, just giving her a gentle, comforting smile. Lynette's woken up too, though she looks up and softly asks, "Can I touch you, my light?"
Aslia is silent for a long moment. Then, she nods, with a quiet "...back is fine..."
So Lynette settles a gentle hand on rose back, rubbing softly. "can I touch your head?" Hina asks, her voice almost inaudible in its gentleness. As she scrubs lingering tears from her eyes, Aslia nods. So Hina starts gently stroking Aslia's rabbit ears, calloused hands gently rubbing the soft blue fur. The feeling of Hina's hand, toughened from years of using her bow, stroking rose ears, helps calm rose. Lynette's gentle touch, their gentle hands kneading the tension out of her back, helps calm her too.
"...Do you want to talk about it?"
When Hina talks again, Aslia jumps. Hina softly apologizes, "Ah, apologies. I should've known better than to startle you." Aslia leans into her hand, humming, "It's not your fault, puppy. but... I probably should talk about it."
"You don't have to do that if you aren't comfortable," Lynette soothes.
"...Can you two just talk for a little while? I'll tell you in a few minutes. I just wanna calm down a little first..."
Hina hums in acknowledgement, continuing to stroke Aslia's ears. As Lynette continues to massage Aslia's back, she starts singing softly.
"Breathe deep, breathe clear. Know that I'm here, know that I'm here. Waiting... Stay strong, stay gold."
Hina hums the background music, a warm smile on her face. As Aslia's wives continue to vocally soothe rose, they also continue to physically soothe rose.
"You don't have to fear, you don't have to fear. Waiting... I'll see you soon, I'll see you soon..."
After a little while, Aslia's finally calm. Or, well, calmer.
"...It was about the time i died..." Aslia finally says out of nowhere.
Both Hina and Lynette go silent. After a few moments of silence, Hina says, "But you're back now. You're not dead anymore."
Aslia fidgets her hands together, the scars barely visible in the low light. Thin, light lines that snake from her fingertips all the way down her arms, right down to her elbow. Usually they're covered by gloves, but not when she sleeps. Lynette and Hina have seen the scars anyways, which helps Aslia feel better.
"...Can we touch your hands, firefly?" Lynette asks softly. Wordlessly, Aslia nods.
Lynette takes Aslia's right hand with a light, gentle touch, like she's handling fragile glass. Her hands are soft and gentle, practiced from her years of practice at her work. Hina, on Aslia's left, takes her left hand with the same care. Despite her hand being calloused from years of fighting, her touch is feather-light.
Lynette and Hina both bring Aslia's hands up to their lips, each woman pressing gentle kisses to Aslia's knuckles. Hina starts trailing kisses along rose hand, wrist, and arms. Lynette starts doing so as well, gentle kisses tracing the lightning scars that mark Aslia's sun-tanned skin.
A faint hint of red colors Aslia's cheeks, Hina and Lynette smiling softly as they continue trailing kisses along Aslia's arms.
As Aslia's two wives continue to comfort her, she starts to relax. The tension bleeds from her shoulders, her body relaxing and her eyes starting to flutter shut. Hina intertwines her fingers with Aslia's, resting their intertwined hands back on the bed. Lynette rests her head on Aslia's shoulder, letting out a soft, content hum.
"Are you ready to go back to sleep?" At Hina's words, Aslia just lets out a grunt of acknowledgement. She doesn't resist when eased back by her wives, her hair forming a sort of halo around her head on the pillow. Hina lays down next to rose, pulling the other woman against her chest. Lynette lays down next, their lithe form spooning Aslia from behind.
And it's there, nestled in the arms of two of the people ro trusts most in the world, that Aslia finally feels safe enough to fall back asleep. Nightmares forgotten, scars uncovered - and two women who pepper the exposed skin with kisses as if to wordlessly reassure their wife, "you're safe now".
