I've never watched Chicago PD but I see it on your blog sometimes -- could you give me a quick summary/what you like about it??
hi there! sorry for the delay in answering, i don’t find myself on tumblr too much anymore. imdb’s summary is as follows:
Follows District 21 of the Chicago Police Department, which is made up of two distinctly different groups: the uniformed cops and the Intelligence Unit.
now that’s pretty broad and doesn’t really help, does it? so i’ll do my best to describe this amazing show.
first of all, it takes place in a much larger universe that dates back to 1990 and has 10+ shows in it. but even more amazing? the shows all stand on their own and you can choose to watch as many or as few as you want. (i personally recommend pretty much all of them because, to me, the best is the original and i have pretty much seen all the episodes of all of them, for more information hit me up again.)
as for chicago pd itself, as imdb says, it focuses on police distract 21 in the city of chicago. it has characters that i love completely and are complex and almost all of them live in the gray of life at one point or another. it (like other shows in the same universe) tackles current issues, including police shootings in what seems like a unique lenses because you care about the characters in question. and you know when the characters are in the wrong. and, sometimes at least, they are forced to deal with the fallout of their actions.
it does tie in closely with chicago fire (which is about a fire house in the city) and chicago med (which is about a hospital in the city) and the short-lived, under appreciated chicago justice (about the justice system in the city), so i would highly recommend watching those four.
