What are you talking about?  I live in Bittyjohnson hell all the time.  The Zimbits Single Dads AU? Bitty dates Johnson in the middle of it.  Johnson knows it won’t last, but the pain of parting will be worth it if he gets to spend even a few weeks with his love again.

Steve is not a bad guy at all, he seems a bit clueless, and a bit entitled, and he get his priorities way out of whack for a minute when Barb disappears. But he is always kind and respectful to Nancy, and she seems pretty into him, all in all he seems like a great first boyfriend for her.

Eh, I can’t agree that he’s always kind and respectful to Nancy. In the beginning she says no to a lot of the things he wants to do and he just bowls over her. Ignoring boundaries isn’t respectful. But he grows a lot and I’m sure he’s better about that by the end. 

(Though she does throw him out of the Byers house at the end and he comes right back so...)

does your office of student affairs have a disability services person? at least for my brother, that person coordinates with all of his profs at the start of each quarter and does follow up a couple times during.

I believe so, although they’ve never been introduced at faculty meetings or anything, and they don’t follow up on students at any point during the term.

oh god how awful. can you refer the student to a campus health clinic or something? are there counseling resources on campus? threats of self harm is likely more than you can deal with as a professor, and as a mandated reporter you need to take steps

I did bcc my dean in my response to the student, and then followed up with another email to her explaining what I think happened (to the student, I said that I wanted to confirm that I understood what he was upset about, so I asked specifically if it was what I suspect); so I’m hoping she gets back to me sooner than later about what to do/what happens next. I have yet to hear back from either of them.

Another vote for Bronson (difficult, but awesome) and Rock'n'Rolla! Also loved Locke much more than I expected to, and Warrior more than it probably deserves. (Special tiny role mention: Layer Cake)

i think i’m doing locke from sheer number of recs + ease of access, but now i have a list of things to watch when i need to avoid studying :D
