Polygnotos or his circle - Red-figure hydria with a woman working wool (c. 420 BCE)

The woman is seated on a klismos (type of chair), pulling out a skein of wool from her kalathos (basket). She works it into thinner yard with her fingers and feeds it into a second kalathos.
