they're like, different types of geeks when it comes to anime and it clashes with how they consume the media.

spade has that anime-like dramatism in him and therefore likes harsh character-driven stories with lots of action and emotional impact. he's passionate about his opinions once he shares them and that makes for heated discussions between him n kuro.

dante's canon interest exists only in merch i think, but imo he's similar to spade, as in he likes plots about perseverance and overcoming personal struggles—but with a more hopeful and cheery tone, which is why magical girls are perfect for him! from kuromaku's observations, he gets 10% more focused when watching them.

romeo, of course, likes the romance animes—the ones with good drama, happy endings, and not-so-subtle queercoding. he gets into a lot of shipping (which the others don't rlly care for but indulge him in anyway, reluctantly).

kuromaku is a fandom nerd and analyzes everything which annoys or intrigues the others (50/50 chance on that tbh).

they have karaoke nights. romeo is always the most enthusiastic about it, especially when it comes to duets or the ones w multiple parts for them each. dante likes to watch more but he can belt it out too. spade usually goes for punk/rock songs and if he's drunk he gets wayyy more intense. actually all of them get wilder when drunk, but it's mostly romeo and spade because dante barely drinks, and kuromaku gave himself the responsibility of making sure the others don't do something Too Crazy therefore maintaining sobriety as best as he can with only mild or non-alcoholic beverages. he's actually the worst drunk of them all though, and can belt out some fire vocals during it—but that's a rare occurrence. he also sings a bit, but mostly mellow songs that can make you feel asleep, in a /pos way.
