before brian starts at p*lygon, he needs money before he becomes destitute, and he’s been told he has a nice voice after years of theater and chorus, so why not work for a sex hotline? and. he’s more into than he’d thought, it’s actually going really well for him

his voice is shakier than Brian’s used to hearing from a client. he’s grown used to the typical cocky business man looking to fuck a guy over the phone so he didn’t have to acknowledge a failing marriage with his wife. he’d been through the internalized homophobia already, as long as he was getting paid, he was happy to help by moaning over the line.

say whatever, do whatever you like,

it seems like pat’s first time on a call like this, so brian’s happy to guide him through it. be gentle with him, talk about kissing down his chest and breath against skin rather than the grab my hair and call me a whore pace that he’s used to.

it’s, nice, if brian thinks about it too much.

the way he can hear pat’s breath catch over the phone, the genuine thrill despite knowing that pat’s only touching himself. reminds brian that he has this power to make someone feel good and wanted.

pat pays his dues, and brian says “thanks for a good night, buttercup.”

pat calls a spare few times over the next couple months, and he’d be stupid to say he missed the tenderness of it. but, brian gets a vanilla job at a video game site, so he figures he doesn’t have the time anymore.

pat thinks the new hire is nice, he does his work and then some, always happy to help ease the load off someone else. always cheery and bouncy with a nervous edge. pat feels like he knows him from somewhere.

and then brian calls him buttercup.

Imagine: Griff goes back to Austin after crashing in NYC with Simone and Pat for a solid 2 weeks, and once he's gone Simone realizes she just can't sleep the same. Pat doesn't sleep over /every/ night, but when he does its still not scratching that itch. After some experimenting one night when she's home alone, she arranges her pillows in such a way that it's not to far off from falling asleep with her head on Griffin's soft little stomach. She falls asleep with a smile on her face and decides that if Griffin or Pat ever find out about this, she'll jump into a volcano.
