Charm Making
Hey, I'm Red, 23, I've been a pagan since I was like 11 and a witch since I was 13, and I've been devoted to Inanna for about 6yrs. I'm also punk, and a huge DIY person.
"Charm" is used to mean a million different things in this community, as is a number of different words. I'm using Charm to mean a spell that you can wear, an object that has a certain energy.
First, a Charm can be anything.
You don't have to make your charm from scratch. I have a big chunky ring of Medusa's head that I got off etsy for like $25 that serves as an everyday protection charm. You can also use whatever you have and make charms to go on your bag, your shoes, keys, car mirror, window, whatever. Hell, spell your water bottle for extra hydration. I'll go through a couple different options of charm making.
People overuse terms like “Helpol” and “Hellenic Polytheism” which are labels to describe a specific religion focused on making burnt sacrifices to the Olympian gods in ritual with one’s entire household. The people who sit in their rooms alone claiming the gods talk to them through tarot are just doing Wicca lite, not Hellenic Polytheism.

Sekhmet - Warrior Goddess
I love sleepmaxxing for the god of sleepmaxxing.
It's my minecraft temple for lady Persephone 😔 I feel like i've neglect her I feel so sorry (˚ ˃̣̣̥⌓˂̣̣̥ ) I migth create a server for online temple idk
in my practice, i have this "swinging-door" policy, where different entities can just drop by (i have a servitor up as a make-shift bouncer), when the door is open, and everyone's shut out when the door is shut. when i sit and meditate i'll often open the door, and different deities just pop up, from all sorts of pantheons (the most common being greek, and then norse & roman respectively). the deities i talk to the most often swing in, but sometimes if i'm venting about a specific topic that piques a specific deities interest they'll appear (i was once talking about how nervous I was to go to a houseparty and dionysus walked in, for example).
i also get deities closely related to each other appearing (i work with hera, so zeus sometimes appears to check in on us) which is pretty interesting, and it leads to me interacting with deities i wouldn't of, because of the idea that you need to be "called to".
i'm super interested if anyone else practices in this way? it seems a little ad-hoc, and i know a lot of people in the deity work community are more traditional and structured than i am, so i haven't seen much on casual relationships. i think the alternative to that structure is often a deeper relationship (often friendship/romantic/familial in nature), rather than a kind of casual but still distant relationship.
to me, my deities are my deities, and have a very specific role that isn't friendship or a lover or a family member, nor is it a being that i revere and respect so much i fear they'll smite me if i don't use the correct epithet (a little hyperbolic, but hopefully you get my point).
idk. i just don't see much of people who practice in this way.
Saw this on r/Hellenism and I needed it today.
I hope it finds you if you needed it too.
Khaire!
