The Salt Lakes of Pomorie, Bulgaria
This is an unique natural phenomenon formed where the Black Sea meets the Pomorie lake. Here visitors can observe the deep, dark blue waters of the sea meeting the light blue waters of the lake and the bright pink waters of the salt lakes. The area is protects due to being part of the Via Pontica bird migration route, making it a temporary home to 215 different bird species, 4 of which are endangered globally. In close proximity is a museum that showcases an ancient method of salt mining that was practiced by the Greeks who resided in region in around the 5th century.
