Hello! Mind to know about Okatsu especially Akane view on that point? They unnecessary empathised the romance side in the anime compared to the game where she was more a Kirino substitute. Yet Akane never got any develoment like that not even after the nobunaga arc, I still feel bad for her she didn't deserved to be used like that just for the comic gag.

I actually have not played the Inazuma games(unfortunately), but judging from what you said, Okatsu was a character that Shindou connected with simply as a substitute for Kirino? So what I’m seeing here is that in the games, Shindou and Okatso moreso bonded as friends, while in the anime there is a budding romance between the two. And on top of all of this, Akane’s admiration for Shindou went on the back burner. I do feel that Level 5 should have done some justice for Akane- especially because she idolized Shindou from the very start- even using the -kama honorific for him, literally calling him “Shin the Great”. I honestly felt pretty awkward looking at her character, and sad knowing that Akane was only there for the comic gag as you said, and she doesn’t have much other than “Shindou’s fangirl”. It kind of puts a shame on fangirls(like me) all across the world who have more than just drooling over a guy. However I’m not hating on Akane here, because she does have other interests, like Science Fiction, and she’s pretty smart- but honestly I would’ve felt a bit more sad for her during the Nobunaga arc if she wasn’t that fangirlish over Shindou in Go. If Akane’s crush was visible, but she chose to be shy about it- I would totally see the Akane/Shindou ship as more real. Akane’s actions towards Shindou didn’t really hint a serious romantic relationship- because there is a clear power imbalance, and what’s even sadder is that Akane wants that power imbalance. The only reason why Level 5 could have hinted the romantic relationship between Shindou and Okatsu is to actually show a serious connection between the two- and I feel like it was done on purpose to overshadow Shindou and Akane. Additionally there are many obvious ships with Shindou from the very start- like Shindou/Tsurugi(start of Go), Shindou/Tenma, Shindou/Ibuki(basically the entirety of Galaxy), Shindou/Kirino, etc., and Level 5 thinks of Shindou/Akane as simply one in that list. But still, I feel like they should have humanized Akane’s love devotion towards Shindou, and then the ship would’ve been far more interesting and realistic.
