Ascended archons au pt 5
Venti woke up in a bed for once, not that he sleeps all that often anyways. His memories of the evening before came back to him, it worried him very much how Albedo was taking this turn of events. Speaking of the new archon… where was he? Venti could’ve sworn that he had fallen asleep with the alchemist hugged tightly in his arms, not willing to move in fear of waking him up. As he came to his senses- he really should sleep more often, it feels good to rest his mind- he looks around and doesn’t see Albedo, which is a mild concern for the archon.
Venti stood up, ready to go outside to see if the alchemist is out there getting some fresh air. That was his plan, until he heard a soft noise of crystals falling to the floor and quiet, hidden, sobs. He looks over to the side of the bed, seeing Albedo curled up, piles of small diamonds mounting around him. Venti curses himself for not waking up sooner.
“Hey- ‘Bedo? It’s alright- I suppose that’s wrong actually- hey, talk to me, what’s got you so upset?” Venti tries to comfort him and get to the bottom of this issue.
Albedo stiffens, the alchemist temporarily pausing in his tears, knowing it’s hopeless in trying to deny the attempts of comfort with the physical evidence of his tears around him. “It’s nothing really- I just-” He sighs and tries to collect his racing thoughts, fiddling with some of the diamonds piled around him.
Venti realises he needs his time to collect his thoughts and feelings. Albedo feels the thin arms wrap around him again and the soothing hum of pure anemo energy in the air as he lets out another sigh, relaxing slightly before speaking softly. “It’s pathetic really, I’m just… not cut out to be an archon. I don’t care if celestia chose me or what, I’m just not able to do this. Do we even need to eat or sleep? Will I need to do anything? You mentioned you knew Morax, right? Can we go see him, ask him to take his divinity back, at least ask him to tell me what to do?”
Venti unwraps his arms after the confession before grabbing the new archon’s face in his hands. “You are good enough to be an archon. Don’t doubt yourself like that.” He speaks seriously before going back to his cheery tone. “Of course! We should go on a holiday to Liyue! I’m sure Morax would know when you show up, I’ll come with you. Just to keep you nice and safe. Oh! You don’t need to eat or sleep anymore but I find it does feel nice to do it, also helps to blend in with mortals.” Albedo pauses before letting out a small laugh. Venti smiled, seeing he was cheering the other up successfully. “Just rest up, we can leave tomorrow if you feel ready?” Albedo nods silently, just wanting to see what the ex-god can do to help him. “Oh yes, the adepti will notice you straight away, so be careful!” Venti slips out with the wind, leaving Albedo to prepare himself for the trip to Liyue.
