So…I was curious and went to read up on her and goodness , Professor MacGonagall’s backstory is tragic. I’d rather she accepted Dougal though, the poor man was left heartbroken. Dougal sounded like a good man, it’s sad that their status got in the way. Most of the time, love stories are boring because the obstacle or conflict they need to overcome felt lame to me. But this one, this one sounds interesting, also, I’m a sucker for tragic romance and I can’t help it.

The next installment of mathematical sadness...

Now he's trying to make a dominos metaphor and one woman literally says "if you could stop making metaphors and just explain to me how this is relevant to my practice and make it interesting for me, then maybe I'd want to understand this more." The professor is just too nice to say "well you don't have to be in this class..." So he just looks really defeated and says "I try my best to make this interesting for you guys, it's like a gallery, I can put up a sign saying there's an art show, but I can't help it if the people that come in just spend the whole time texting, all I can do is lead you to the art, I can't force you to appreciate it. Mathematics is the same way." :l This poor guy.

Today I learned that I caused one of my Anthropology professors’ assistants to quit because he could not take having to grade and fact check my research papers. His resignation paper apparently involved the phrase “I don’t think she’s human.” The professor gave me enough extra credit to boost my GPA half a point as a reward and asked me to take the old assistant’s position.
