Los Angeles-based musician Saro is as mesmeric as ever as he unveils the arresting music video for new single Please. He drenches us in exquisite textures and glossy smooth vocals on the dark, melancholic track. There’s a cinematic intensity to its shifty production reminiscent of SOHN, and an ethereal beauty to his alt-R&B styled brooding vocals that melds The Weeknd with Sampha. "The video is about getting so lost in the persona you’ve created that you become an observer of yourself,” notes Saro. “How it feels like every movement is being surveilled at all times. Voyeurs casting judgement through peepholes with their identities veiled." Saro is fine-tuning his latest pop-noir/downtempo electronica EP, due this spring, and steeped in lush, musical tapestries that showcase his vivid storytelling. He’ll also be announcing fresh tour dates to come in 2019. Van Alden is the urban-tinged pop-noir project of Los Angeles-based artist and clothing designer Paul Abrahamian, who just released his self-titled debut EP. On top of those accomplishments, Abrahamian also garnered much attention with his appearance on two seasons of CBS’ hit reality series, Big Brother. He elaborates on his talent as a musical artist with his five-track EP, which includes this sooty torrent of moody electronica and brooding pop named Otherside. Van Alden is bent on expressing life’s more intense and complicated emotions, related to a range of themes including loss, memory, and freedom despite pain. For another standout track from his self-titled debut, stream dark glowering, dusky haunting, yet smooth arresting Bohême below. The sonic palate on his inaugural record is a mixture of many of his influences, such as James Blake, The Neighbourhood, Bon Iver, Chet Faker, and Caribou. Breathy bewitchment ensues as we fall under the spell of Charity, a Los Angeles-based Arkansas talent who’s working towards the release of her debut EP. The singer songwriter seduces us to the utmost with her haunting voice on And There Were Strangers, a fatalistic sadcore song of romance with the allure of Lana Del Rey and some of the vivid cinematics and regal flourishes of now defunct Vaults.
