Book Series I Need to Read (Part 2)

*drum roll* I'm back! On popular demand! Just kidding. I need this list for myself. Just doing the leg work for you guys. The best things in life are free! :P    

Buckle up, book nerds! Because this list is even longer than the last one. Let's begin…

1.Camp-Half Blood Chronicles by Rick Riordan

Yes yes, I’m a terrible person for not having read these, I even saw the movie without reading the book *my brownie points have been revoked* but i liked it. dont know why they didnt continue the movie series. I usually wait till I read the book. Psst! still haven’t seen Crazy Rich Asians. Anyway. Its Greek mythology, you can’t hate it. It’s super interesting! This is one of the longest-running series though, 36 books!

2. Caraval Trilogy by Stephanie Garber

I love the covers so much! If you’ve read the night circus it’s a little similar to that, the whole challenge thing set up but disguised as a circus thing. But I'm not sure if this is a love story. It follows the story of two sisters and It’s been a while since I read siblings.

3. Illuminae Trilogy by Amie Kaufman, Jay Kristoff

This book is set in space. The year is 2575 and we’ve found several planet B’s to replace Earth. Also it is sci-fi but like there is also a plague probably like symbiotes like in venom. So it’s basically Captain Marvel meets Venom. Not sure. Just making wild guesses after reading the blurb. Also, I'm not a sci-fi girl. But then again I was surprised I liked the Neuromancer (book review coming soon) so... anything’s possible. Also this book is told through documents: like report entries and stuff so…

4. Ready Player One Duology by Ernest Cline

Lots of people liked this one. Surprisingly (not!) it’s another sci-fi, futuristic setting. This time the year is 2044 and the race is for pop culture from decades over? Like there are clues hidden in pop culture. This book is for millennials and gen z definitely. It’s like Gamer (movie) meets the Hunger Games because the world is virtual reality…  

5. Winter Night Trilogy by Katherine Arden

This feels very much like a fairytale retelling but maybe Russian fairytales? Sounds intriguing because its main plot is “superstitions-come-to-life” because they stop warding their house against the spirits and they wreak havoc. I do not enjoy horror books at all but I’ll give this a shot since it’s so “popular”.

6. The Folk of the Air Trilogy By Holly Black

The cruel prince is EVERYWHERE!!!! And I love the minimalist book covers. (couldnt post a picture since tumblr has a 10-picture-per-post-limit). This is fantasy YA. Centered on conniving faeries and obviously the “cruel faerie prince”… Looking forward to this one.

7. Everless Duology by Sara Holland

I don’t know why I keep confusing this with heartless by Marissa Meyer (a standalone) it sounds the same right. But it is not related to Alice in wonderland at all. It's kind of sci-fi but not futuristic since it’s a kingdom. (But kingdoms are in outer space too right? Like Asgard is a kingdom so…) Not sure. It's based around that concept from that movie Time where the rich keep increasing their time to live while feeding off of the poor…something like that. Also it has a love triangle so yay! arent the covers something!

8. Truly Devious Trilogy by Maureen Johnson

I love the blurb of this! (I've linked it so read the blurb!) This is definitely my kind of book. Gave me vibes from another series I adore (will fangirl about those in another post) plus like I love books centered on a boarding school or an academy. They had me at anonymous killer! Besides sometimes you need a break from fantasy.

9. Millennium Series by Stieg Larsson

Old I know I'm not sure if I’ll read these. But they were quite the hype when they came out. I haven’t seen the movie either but when do movies ever do justice to books. This is a mystery-thriller and your girl here is a HUGE fan of these. It's also romance and family drama and political corruption and lots of sexually gory scenes which I'm not a big fan of so… we shall see. 4 books in total

10. Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu

The blurb on Goodreads is supper concise but also vague and mysterious. It has that enemies to lovers (maybe) trope so it’s a win already: P

11. Chaos Walking Trilogy by Patrick Ness

This book sounds very interesting. Todd is infected by the noise germ in which you can hear everybody else’s thoughts and they can hear yours. I mean we've all wished that at some point (hearing other people’s thoughts not projecting our own OBVI) plus a mute girl is involved and she’s a rarity cause it’s a “man’s world” (pun intended) and he can't believe that one still exits cause they'd all been wiped out! Read the blurb guys I may have confused you all... : P xD it’s a trilogy till now…

12. Arc of Scythe Trilogy by Neal Shusterman

Sounds so gore-y training two teenagers to take lives to keep the population at bay. Dystopian. We have conquered all that ails this planet. Poverty, climate change, world hunger. Peace. It's like either learn to kill or be killed. Not sure how this isn’t standalone and has progressed into a trilogy. Will just have to read to find out.

13. Crazy Rich Asians Trilogy by Kevin Kwan

A trilogy centered on well Crazy Rich Asians xD. It's light funny and hilarious. And people really enjoyed the movie so the books must be much better. I got eBooks for these so this is going to be my first read, out of this list! J

14. The Thousandth Floor trilogy by Katharine McGee

Also futuristic. Manhattan, New York in 2118. Five teenagers (so I guess Five POVs) struggling to find their place at the top of the world. Sounds very high tech. not sure if the teenagers are human or android or something else entirely.

15. The Girl from Everywhere Duology by Hiedi Heilig

Involves a magical map that can take you any place in time you want. Even places from stories. Centered around a girl whose dad doesn’t give a single hoot if she disappears because he's obsessed with finding her mom in the past when they first meet. So this girl could very well disappear because she wouldn’t exist. I love books with time-bending cause they a paradox. Cause the beginning is the end and or vice versa.

16.  The Girl in Between by Laekan Zea Kemp

Another fairytale retelling with a twist. This girl has a disease kinda like narcolepsy. But when she sleeps she goes to another dimension to live a life made of her memories. And obviously there's a boy who is a stranger but might be her knight! Very interesting no? Plus I love the covers!! Series has four books! And the first is told from the girls POV and the second from the boys POV. Maybe she alternates. Will have to read to find out! im excited about these!!

BONUS:

17. Ash Princess Trilogy by Laura Sebastian

This is not as popular but I've seen a few pictures here and there. The story sounds interesting. The main character sounds very badass. Plus she has mind powers or some kind of power that will set her and her kingdom free. Pretty covers though. 

18. Binti Trilogy by Nnedi Okorafor

I thought the author would be Arab because her books name is Binti which literally means daughter in Arabic but she isn’t. She’s Nigerian-American. Also this book looks very interesting.. Sci-fi cause it’s set in space. Gives off very Ravenclaw vibes cause the main theme is wisdom and how to put it to use. I love the ethnic covers!
