After 5 years I still get yucked out over my fingers feeling the catheder from my port-a-cath under my skin, I'm so weird!!! I don't purposely touch that area but sometimes like a mechanical instint to itch and my fingers will feel it and it will move a bit gross! ROTFL! I can touch and unaccess, and reaccess my own Port every week no problem, the needle stays in 7 days after 7 days I replace it with a new sterile needle and dressing then take down all my IV stuff and put up new ones, but the catheder to it has always crossed me out idk why...as I said I'm weird...
