Had another Harry Potter thought (four actually):
Why isn’t there a spell to record a video? That should be a thing. I went through a couple lists of “all spells in Harry Potter” and couldn’t find one. Am I forgetting it? If not, why isn’t that a thing? It should be a thing.
Okay, real talk. Why didn’t Voldemort just bury Harry Potter in the woods? It’s an insult to wizard tradition, he could take his glasses as “proof” he’s dead, and it would ensure Harry stayed dead. Just saying. I get it, kinda; Voldie was high on hubris but like if he’d just done this the whole thing may have played out very differently (they still may have won, but it would be a different kinda thing).
Why are 11 year olds allowed to roam a massive castle without supervision? As clearly shown in HP & the Philosopher’s Stone, they can get into places that can be pretty dangerous without too much difficulty. These aren’t responsible children, these are 11 year olds, several of whom were just recently told “Hey, you have magic. Here’s a stick, go to magic school!” And then there’s Quidditch. You’d think there’d be some kind of magic back up so if you fall from a certain height it automatically kicks in and saves you. There’s no way people haven’t almost died due to falling off (or being hit off, *cough cough* bludgers *cough cough*). It even happened to Harry! Dumbledore saves him, but most schools don’t have a Dumbledore.
Do wizards only have the ability to teleport themselves and whatever is on their person/holding on? Port-keys only work with whoever is touching the object, apparition is done by a single wizard (they can “carry” other people with them though), and the floo powder thing was a one person, say-the-words-go-to-the-place kinda deal. So wizards haven’t figured out how to teleport things? Someone needs to figure that out. It would make their mail system infinitely more reliable, speedy, and hygienic.
My last two posts about Harry Potter were definitely my Slytherin side shining through, but this is more my Ravenclaw side I guess.
