Dissecting: Edens Zero Ch. 155-159

Jinn + Kleene vs Callum + Lyra:

Lyra’s powers are interesting, I know Mashima changed it from the original submission because she used dice like Nero. I feel like tho since he used the elements as ether gear for previous characters that Lyra's ether gear should be related to her cards or numbers. The lightning seems a little out of place for me. Gamblers Rush should’ve been whatever card is flipped over the suit will attack with different powers so like heart would attack you differently than a spade. Plus, wind should be stronger than lightning especially with Kleene’s ether gear (Wind Snatch).

Callum’s ether gear still confuses me 😩 but Laguna explaining it does help a little lol. So basically, each Oceans 6 member has two types of ether gear: The ether gear they grew up with and the one given to them by the Empire.

Tho, with Laguna revealing the weakness and Jinn going into a little backstory feels kinda corny IMO. WHO AM I? I AM ME.

With the Rutherford backstory, how did Drakken find them? Was he the one who turned him into a cyborg or "robot boy?" Jinn and Kleene's relationship is reminding me of Yor and Yuri's bond in Spy x Family.

Even though Kleene is younger, they're kinda acting like twins in this part when they both go into OD at the same time. I get that Jinn is trying to normalize his ether and beat Callum while also figuring out "who he is" and what not but what about Kleene? We never really see her perspective on their backstory and Sister going into her memories doesn't count.

The end of the battles against Oceans 6 fall a little short for me but I understand that they're just the underlings and their battles won't be as grand as EZ crew vs Shura, Nero, or Ziggy.

But, now we got 4 OD: Homura, Weisz, Jinn, and Kleene. What about Mosco???!?! SOMEONE PUSH HIS BUTTON.

Also, I probably said this in a previous post but if the Oceans 6 is supposed to be these elite defenders why can't they go into OD?

Nero 1 Invasion:

Fabiano and Jaguar have this 70s look that I can vibe with. Fabiano thinking his Aoi crystal-type ether gear is strong enough to defend against Jaguar is laughable...Sir, have you've read Fairy Tail's Alvarez Empire Arc??? Did you skip over the Gray vs Invel battle???

Okay, if Nero dies the Aoi Cosmos will go to Shura but what happens if Shura dies too lol. Who gets ownership of the Aoi Cosmos? The Oración Seis Galáctica?

Laguna + Shiki + Rebecca vs Princess Ijuna:

Okay, Happy, if Shiki and Rebecca could stop fighting one another they would but they're being forced to act this way why don't you get it? Giving a speech like that isn't going to do anything lmao. I mean they're crying because they don't want to fight...damn this is giving me Gray vs Juvia flashbacks. I would've have really liked to see the love part with Gruvia in Fairy Tail but we see that now in the sequel. 😉

Laguna came just in time with his Tears Lover and now he has to face the princess. I FREAKING CALLED IT BEFORE THO. I had a feeling she was the princess cause she was an important side character and wasn't a part of Oceans 6 which made it a little sus.

I wonder why Laguna wanted more power? Was the reason because he couldn't save his best friend (since the empire killed him) or was it merely out of greed and ego? Who is this best friend?

Did Laguna and Ijuna have a thing. Also, just realizing that their names rhyme.

Would it make more sense to have Ijuna's ether gear be invisible? Would it defeat the purpose if everyone could see the red strings? Well, the red strings are both a symbol of romance and death. Romantic disaster? The perfect combo: Shura and Ijuna plus a heaping of toxicity. I mean...A bomb in her ass? Shura has some weird ass kinks. He's definitely the dom and she's got Stockholm Syndrome. Alexa play Stockholm Syndrome by One Direction, please.

OOF Laguna's silhouette scared the shit outta me for a second. Whew! I like how Laguna is saying the exact same thing Pino said when Shiki and Rebecca were fighting.

Pino: “They are acting against their will..so their hearts are crying.”

Laguna: “Your heart is crying your majesty.”

But, I didn't even think about the possibility of Ijuna using her power with Shura unconsciously - Flight or fight response shit right there.

I was reading Ch. 83 and found this.

See, I don’t know if Mashima plans his story out or if he develops certain plots on the spot because everything is connecting. “Oh, I could use this later...” Brilliant. Amazing. For real though, I was like damn it’s the Mildian/Sun Jewel arc again (Xiaomei’s battles foreshadowing).

Shura vs Ziggy

It was interesting to read that Shura isn't the biological son of Nero. This leads me to think...what if Shura and Shiki are related? I mean they both have gravity ether and they both were taught by Ziggy. They both are also strong in their own right. We also have the theme from Fairy Tail of Good vs Evil (Zeref and Natsu) but in this instance it would be Shura and Shiki. We also don't know where they came from - their origins. Plus, Nero says that his power was incompatible with Shura but he was able to match with Ziggy's gravity powers.

Later, when the crew of Edens Zero find another relic (Robo Cola cap), they infer that Mother could be a place and a person. I was also thinking that because in FT: 100 years quest, Aldoron was a dragon god but his body was home to 5 cities.

So, if I'm right then, Shiki and Shura maybe are from a city on Mother...and maybe even Rebecca.

I'm noting that Shiki is younger than Shura. When Ziggy was training Shura, that was 15 years ago but, that's also the same time Ziggy found Shiki as a baby....unless Ziggy is lying and he has false memories. 👀👀👀 Is Ziggy truly good or bad? Does Shiki have additional powers like Rebecca?

What is the all-link system? Looks like Shura and Ziggy have the same idea. I think if Shura and Ziggy battle - Ziggy will win. What did you guys think?

Xenolith and the Crew of Edens Zero

I wonder why Xenolith's maintenance is lasting longer. Perhaps it may be revealed in the future. I would laugh if he moved his consciousness/personality data into a younger robot body.

Weisz stays being a perv lol with the bondage training.

Did Xenolith teach Shiki 'Black Sky?' For me, I feel like in the next arc, when Shiki is facing a really tough opponent we will get flashbacks of his training with Xenolith and him learning Black Sky. Then, he'll perform it against the enemy...which could be Ziggy. So, yes, I think Xenolith did teach him. Could be wrong but we'll have to wait and see!

Both Xenolith and Xiaomei have stated that Rebecca's power will change/save the world/universe.

- Xiaomei (Ch. 64): "She has only just begun to unlock the secrets of Leap’s real power. This power may truly save the universe one day."

- Xenolith (Ch. 132): "Her power is weak…but it is the most special. Special enough to change the world."

Witch calling Rebecca a 'Chrono Witch' is giving me Scarlet Witch vibes...

Fan service with the bath scenes but, at least it is keeping the story going, in that, she has to train in the bath in order to get stronger. Sister makes me geek, "You better get out of those ropes before this turns x-rated." When I read that scene, it gave me Virgo vibes from FT.

I also want to see how Xenolith met Ziggy. So, I'm wishing for a flashback.

I don't know if I put this on a post before or not but, my thoughts are that Ziggy did reach Mother and found Shiki there. He erased the Four Shining Stars memories because something bad would happen if he didn't (like they would get infected the way he is now). So, he did it to save them.

UGHHHH BUT THAT CLIFFHANGER...WHYYYYY - It'll probably blow my mind when it gets revealed.

Also, WOOHOOO! Jinn and Kleene joined the crew. That cute ass smile!!! OOOMG his face when he isn't able to untie Kleene. 🥺🥺🥺

The Oceans

So cool to see the winners of the Edens Zero character competition featured as the Oceans 6! I'm a fan of all of them and don't you worry...we won't forget Shura's assistant even though she's not part of the 6. However, she might be since Shura killed off Cyca. Yikes.... RIP Cyca

Their designs are so clean!! (Sorry if the images look blurry Tumblr only allows 10 photos per post so I tried stitching them together in Illustrator but I think the file size is too big for Tumblr so that's why it may be blurry but, I hope you get the gist of their designs.)

I wonder what she means by that...I feel like this will be important later. We also don't know much about the other members of the Oración Seis Interstellar. I'm excited to see what their ether gear is...especially Eraser. 👀👀👀 Does his ether have something to do with erasing things? Are they corrupt or good guys? I guess we'll found out soon...

B-Cube

Rebecca has carved 'Edens Zero' onto her B-Cube. Did you guys notice in Ch. 134 that Rebecca's ingrained B-Cube is the same one we see in Ch. 4? That's the scene where there are two robots 20,000 years in the future who find two bodies (a man and a woman) and a B-Cube which we can now confirm is Rebecca's.

The Ships + Other Notable Mentions

LOL I feel like if I was a B-Cuber, I would be an entertainment/fashion channel....basically like Sorcerer Weekly but make it Space Weekly or a cool name like Into the Void. Maybe a play off of 'Cosmopolitan' but shorten it to 'Cosmos.' So many options.

#1 Homura and Creed

I'll say it again...I SHIP IT! I am hoping for some more scenes with them together. He always looks so cute when he blushes <3 He's a Homura stan too hahah. 🥺🥺🥺

Predictions: - Creed and Homura will fight - Creed will protect Homura again - Homura will save Creed - Creed will join the Edens Zero crew

Now, I was reading on a few discord channels that people are comparing Creed to Mest (Fairy Tail). Now, I am really trying to understand this comparison because frankly, I don't see it. Creed has a crush on Homura. That's valid. Also, Creed doesn't just have pictures of just Homura, he has Weisz, Rebecca, and Shiki. He's not creepy like Mest.

Mest was a weird guy when we first met him laying in the pool or eating flowers. Their personalities are totally different IMO. We could talk ages about the age gap stuff but I'm not really gonna go into that.

#2 Rebecca and Shiki

Shiki escaping from his restraints to save 'Rebecca' made me happy lol. It makes me think what he would do if it was Homura or Weisz in that situation. What would Shiki do? Plus, after the simulation was over...we can see Rebecca in awe and blushing.

Then, Shiki is hugging Rebecca and they're both blushing 💕 That's a cute moment ngl.

"I'm not THAT into Shiki." - So, you don't deny that you like him 😉

I don't know if I mentioned this but I fucking love Hermit's name. It's such a cool name.

Dissecting: Edens Zero Ch. 140-144

The "Dead" Princess of the Rebel Army

The cliche story of someone you thought was dead and they were actually still alive. I believe it's coming guys. If it's not you can hound me in the comments or dms. My first thought after reading Ch. 140 was that Ijuna was the princess. Going into theory mode...again: Ijuna was sent to rescue troops and got caught by Shura but instead of killing her he had someone either erase her memories or manipulate her brain to control her so now she's his secretary. The motive behind could be because he thought she was cute so he wanted to put her to use, he likes her/thought she was strong/useful and didn't want to kill her but he had to manipulate her so she would stay by his side, or another backstory lol. I mean in Ch. 139 when the General is speaking with Ijuna he asks Shura, "But...Didn't she used to be..." It's time for Wheel of Fortuneeee. Solve this puzzle: But, didn't she used to be...[part of the Rebel Army]. Would be interesting if we find out she actually was undercover....👀👀👀I wonder who the old boss was too...Hopefully we find out some answers towards the end of this arc!

Laguna

Still unsure of his exact motives. From Ch. 140, Weisz confronts Laguna about jumping from group to group to defeat Nero. I feel like he's still hiding the truth. I wouldn't be surprised if he was working with Nero. This was my theory a couple weeks ago about Laguna which may still happen. BUT! I did love how Weisz is expressing how much he cares for his friends/crew. We love character development!! 🙌🏻😩Makes me wonder about wth Nero is doing. Watch there be an OVA about Nero doing random shit like playing poker alone, bathing, reading, or eating fancy cakes all while everyone is battling.

Shura vs Shiki

Interesting to note that even though they were taught by the same person, their gravity ether gear is slightly different from one another. Shiki's powers focus on altering his own personal gravity. Shura can do that too but he specializes in moving objects. When Shura sensed Shiki he said it was "dark gravity." Does this mean Shiki's gravity is changing throughout each arc?

In Ch. 141, Sister mentions that Shura is not human...don't know if she's being serious or not but if she is this kinda supports my past theory.

I really liked how this battle is starting out. It would be too early to defeat Shura as there is still so much of the arc left. Plus, we haven't even seen Elsie or Ziggy. I guess Shiki's training with Xenolith is paying off too (Ch. 142).

Shura asking Shiki to be his friend was a little out of the blue. He probably wanted him on his side to use him for his own corrupt schemes. But after Shiki was like "lol no" Shura went to Edens Zero. Shura totally acts irrational and wants to push people/robots to their breaking point. But sooner or later he's going to learn. I wonder if this arc will be the end for him or if he will have a redemption arc?

All-Link System: Is it that simple to kill the bots? Just a flip of a switch? NGL that's kinda lame. I hope there is more to it.

Eraser

My boooooo. Okay but I've been reading that a lot of people think Eraser might be a robot since he is "breathing" in space. I actually wouldn't be surprised if that was revealed. Guess we'll have to see about that. But, aren't Shura and Shiki battling out in space too? I don't think they're inside the dome. Granted, I don't think Shura nor Shiki are human so maybe they are able to withstand being in space.

Oohhh I can't wait til the rest of the OSI come...but will it just be Justice, Jaguar, and Eraser? Where my ladies at???? Holy, Cure, Feather??

Mosco

I'M GEEEKING AT MOSCO cosplaying Shiki hahaha. I wonder what other cosplay he can do...

Now we're gonna see the Oceans 6 battle it out. Well, it's the Oceans 5 because Shura killed off Cyca. I wonder if Weisz, Homura, Rebecca, Mosco, Pino, and Happy will be the only ones battling the Oceans? We already know Milani vs Homura. Will it be Weisz vs Callum? Rebecca vs Nasseh? Lyra vs Pino/Happy? Mosco vs Fabiano (LOL!)? What will the pairings be?!?!?
