NPR's Sarah McCammon speaks with meteorologist Matthew Cappucci about the challenges of communicating about climate science during the weath
I’ve probably mentioned on here too, but in my day to day life I’ve certainly railed on numerous occasions over the years about the smiling disconnect that meteorologists present when they have to share that weather is unseasonably warm or dry. Won’t that be so nice for you all? Get outside and enjoy it, everybody! No need to think too hard about why this might be :) :) It raises my hackles every time. If it was just about politics they might ignore it, but they outright put a positive spin on it while they are expected to know better. And here this fellow admits meteorologists at large are failing their audience.
