“I am deeper than admiration but not love. People can lose me and gain me but never buy me, I can be earned but never stolen. I can be held by someone but dropped by someone else. Your friends should have me, your teachers need be but your enemies shouldn’t.”
That’s tough
It could be friendship but in a way that’s love, platonic love to be specific and teachers don’t need my friendship
So maybe respect
Respect is deeper than admiration. You can lose respect or gain it depending on your actions.
Respect can be earned but since it’s not a psychical object it’s not able to be stolen.
You can hold respect as in you can keep someone’s respect or hold the concept of being respected close to you.
You should respect your friends and their wishes and opinions.
You should respect your teaches because they are trying to teach you and they don’t want to be dealing with so many kids.
If I had any enemies I would not give them any respect because they would definitely be horrid people.
Staying awake thinking about the fact that us wearing corsets on the outside of our clothes is like if people thousands of years in the future wore bras on the outside of their clothes for fashion
Valentine’s Day
Love isn’t told through price. Give the person you care about something meaningful. Write something for them or make them something. You could even spend some time with them. That’s how I think you truly show you care. So if you believe you need to go the extra mile on this day. Then do it less from the wallet and more from the heart. That’s the best advice I can give on this holiday.
So have a happy valentine’s day you wonderful people.
#sorry #notsorry
Post inspiration
If you utter the word “sorry” in my presence, I quite likely would give you a dismissive look, accompanied by a knowing nod - these two gestures sum up my lukewarm feelings towards reactionary apologising. I don’t know when or how, but I think these feelings arose from constantly apologising to friends and people for not meeting their expectations of me. It began to feel that when I was saying “sorry” I wasn’t conveying my feelings adequately and actually belittling my efforts to function, belittling me doing my best.
Saying “sorry” implies feeling guilty and not blatantly taking responsibility, neither of which are that constructive for any relationship.
Women use apologising as a way of diminishing and excusing our presence, and quietening our voices. I always end up saying “s-o-r-r-y-s-o-r-r-y-s-o-r-r-y-s-o-r-r-y-s-o-r-r-y...” (I finger spell to communicate), when overtly showing emotion. Thinking about it, it’s when all I feel is guilt for confronting people with my emotions, making them bear witness to my pain. In essence, I’m trying to retract myself, my truth by apologising, and I’m trying to minimise my pain too, that is being compounded by the socially induced guilt. I understand this reaction in myself.
However when more ordinary exchanges between friends and people, I steer away from saying sorry: “sorry to hear that”, “sorry to do this”, “sorry to be that”. It almost feels like I could have don’t something to prevent or improve the situation, or like I’m trying to erase what has happened, or what is happening or who I am. I would rather just acknowledge things and express exactly what I’m feeling. “That is shit, my stomach is churning at the thought of what you are going through” or “ you must be a bit annoyed at me for not getting back to you, i’m frustrated at myself. Things are a struggle at the moment, my emotional mind is elsewhere, patience is what I need right now, I hope you understand that i’m doing my best” . These sentiments feel more real to me, like I’m offering the other a bit of my heart. To me, saying “sorry” is a very cognitive response and one which expresses guilt. Of course, there are moments that you need to convey guilt and remorse like for things and hurt that you could absolutely and directly prevented. Like when you are being called out for saying something insensitive or spilling over a glass of water.

The Fron Bottoms - Twin Size Mattress (translated)
My mum told me once that when a dog seems happier to see other people than to see you it isn't because they don't like you, it's because they know you love them, and when they run excitedly up to other people they are just trying to get them to love them as much as they know you already do.
