to everyone that runs a blog that takes requests:
it is so very important that you do not let it turn into a job or a chore. if you worry about getting your requests done to a point that causes distress, anxiety, or resentment to the account: step back. close your requests for a moment. only accept the ones you have the motivation to do. mute your notifications if you need to.
it’s not personal to whoever requested it. this is your blog, your space, and your creations. you can say no. you can put it on the back burner. this is not a job you are obligated to do. there is no quota nor is there a deadline.
resenting every notification or request you receive is not healthy. you are burning yourself out. this is not what running a request blog should be like. it should be for fun; making things for the joy of your own creation should be fulfilling.
needing rest and turning down requests does not make you a bad person. your health comes before any of this.
to the people who make requests on these blogs:
be kind to the creators.
you are not entitled to any of their work. if they can’t make you that stimboard or moodboard or fic or whatever you wanted, you wish them well and move on. under no circumstances do you rush anyone making you something for free.
never turn someone’s hobby into work you want done by a deadline. put yourself in their shoes.
