I’ve got a Writing Prompt for yous guys

Post-Post-Apocalyptic. Humanity has managed to claw its way from extinction. Centuries, Millennia, Eons, how ever long you imagine to take place after this revival. Now imagine, after an excavation project, someone finds an ancient, fairly decently preserved book. The worlds top Linguists are put to the task of deciphering this, this relic of an ancient past long forgotten. This is the first anyone has ever seen of these glyphs. when all is said and done, they succeed in transcribing these letters into their own, and upon reading they find a study of interactions and how the Ancients lived their lives. A detailed account with times and locations, patterns and habits. They call this “The Tome of the Ancients”. Back in 2018, the earliest date they were able to link this “Tome” to, A cheery, ambitious 17 Year old Monique called this her diary.

A. What’s the most depressing movie you’ve ever watched?

I am generally more likely to cry over TV than over movies! And I tend to avoid things that bill themselves as “bleak” or the like as much as possible. I was quite young when I watched it but I feel like I cried a lot over “Castaway”?

I. The most aesthetically pleasing movie you’ve ever watched?

A lot of animated films, particularly Miyazaki, would probably battle it out for this one for me, but I’ll talk up a super underwatched CGI film called “A Monster in Paris” which I really love to feast my eyes upon.

F. A film you wish you hadn’t watched?

There was this Nicholas Sparks movie in college. Something about horses in the title, I think? Nights in Rodanthe, IMDB tells me. Anyway, fuck Nicholas Sparks, the only one of his I ever liked while I was watching it was “Walk to Remember” and now I can’t even look back on that in fondness because it was the beginning of him ruining the romcom.

L. A movie that holds a special place in your heart?

Seeking a Friend for the End of the World. I don’t rewatch it often, because I don’t like crying, but man, watching that had a huge impact.
