ive been off of accutane for about 41 days and my face looks the way it did before i even started accutane. i feel terrible and disgusting.
Dermatologist Visit Post-Accutane
Had my first dermatologist visit since finishing accutane. I showed him a picture of how bad my face had gotten a few days ago and a picture of how it looks now (i dont like leaving the house without makeup which is why i showed him pics) and he prescribed me some oral antibiotics.
He said if my acne gets bad again i could go back on accutane but at double the dose and a shorter amount of time but idk if my body could handle that. I also hope my acne doesnt get bad again to the point where i need accutane again.
He also gave me some samples: a retinoid called epiduo forte and some spot treatment. Im afraid to use the retinoid since my face burns with even regular clearasil so i probably wont be using that

It’s been a really long time since my last post. I don’t even remember the last time that made an update on my journey. But now, I want to continue to maintain healthy skin and even out my skin tone.
So far it’s been the same. I did start getting a few pimples a few months back here and there and my doctor put me on meds. I don’t remember to take them half the time but my skin hasn’t freaked out on me much. Because of the wonderful world of the internet I have picked up a few new things that I want to try.
One is a Derma Roller. They’re expensive like $60 bucks but their supposed to help with hyper pigmentation. I’ve also revisited two old favorites where are Ocean Sea Salt and Mask of Megamcminty form Lush. And I’ve found face masks at Target. Then the last one is making my own toner with Apple Cider Vinegar. I’ll post pictures after this post and talk more about what I’m doing.
UPDATE
Small pimples are gone, and ill get a tiny one here and there, but they disappear fast. Lips are definitely improving, not flaking off my face anymore. Still using tons of moisturizer and chapstick. Ive got a lot of scars that were uncovered by the acne, so thats gonna take a while to heal. But so far, so good! :)
Happy Three Day Weekend!!!! So I'm not even a year post Accutane and I'm getting white heads. Ugh!! I'm planning on making a call to my derm next week, maybe they can give me a topical or something. How long was it before you stopped Accutane that you noticed little pimples, white heads etc....
