The first question that many women and families ask after losing a baby in pregnancy is, “Why?”. ▫️ In this episode, Amanda talks about the self-blame she felt after her first miscarriage. She felt that it was her fault - that it must have been something she did or didn’t do. ▫️ The truth is, most early miscarriages are caused by many things that are beyond a woman’s control. In fact, the single most common reason for miscarriage is a genetic abnormality. ▫️ It’s normal, expected and appropriate to process the many feelings that can come with losing a baby in pregnancy, but guilt does not have to be one of them. ▫️ Take good self care: have a bath, go for a walk, run, get a massage, write, draw, create, meditate, work, Netflix and chill, cry, talk, yell, cook, eat chocolate, drink a glass of wine, cup of tea, be alone or with loved ones. ▫️ Be kind to yourself and gracious to your body.
