not to haruhipost in 2026 but endless 8 in the haruhi anime will continue to fascinate me long after i watched it (endless 8 spoilers ahead I guess?)

first of all, I don't think anything like that has ever happened in media before, or if it ever will. Like, okay. Imagine you are a weekly anime, and have a time loop arc where you want to give a sense for how many loops there are. In the original book, it takes up maybe 100 or so pages. Do you:

Compress that into a few episodes, enough to give a sense of what's going on but to not take up too much of your runtime

Have them air the same episode for a few weeks to make the viewer also experience the sense of time loop, giving your animation team more time but possibly risking people tune out

Make 8 episodes of your 14 episode season show 8 of the time loops, each with distinct voice acting and completely different storyboards, where it isn't clear if they're out until the very end?

for all the stories i've heard about theater etiquette being dead, i've had two nice theater experiences in a row where people were generally chill and quiet

#granted yesterday was a smaller local theater and today was a 10pm showing (i figured that late wouldn't have small children 💀)#(no offense to kids but i do assume kids will be louder in a movie #since they're excited and everything)#honestly the thing that got me was like. after the movie today i was hearing someone ask basic questions about the movie #that were explained in the text. im just assuming they weren't interested in the series and came with a friend/loved one #but i did have the accursed thought of ''damn media literacy is so dead...''#postatoes

anyway!!! i am barely resisting the urge to make a post/video/etc about all of the seasonal anime i'm watching rn (since there is a lot. mostly i'm waiting on like 15 more shows to air)
