Cornish Arts Incubator Residency
I'm thrilled to be taking part in Post Disciplinary Text(s), part of the Arts Incubator Program at Cornish -- pulling in my long-time collaborators Rachel Kessler and Loren Erdrich (long-distance) to be part of the experiments as well. From the project's website: Post Disciplinary Text(s) is a 17-day residency as part of Cornish College of the Arts “Arts Incubator” program. The residency will take place at the Cornish Playhouse February 23rd-March 11th. Organized by curator Julia Greenway and artist Jessica Hoffman, this residency program will function as a workshop atmosphere to build the work of artists exploring literary themed ideas. Providing space for artist collaborations, ongoing performance, and a culminating large-scale exhibition, the ultimate goal is to allow performers to respond to creative writing, poetry or spoken word, encourage visual artists to create work that is focused on text as object, and explore multi media work that incorporates text as installation. This residency program will bring together artists working across the disciplines, to focus on the visual and performative exploration of the literary arts. The residency will allow these artists to focus their current work around text, language, and literary objects (books, magazines, text) and facilitate collaboration between visual artists, performers, and writers.
