I love the dumb Dude I Married for powering through the intense situation of jaws of the lion while dealing with lockdown two electric boogaloo but totally different because it’s two years later and while doing major emergency home repair. Also we are fucking broke and he hates me for not bringing in income. So antitrad.
A fundamental difference between the Dude I Married and myself is one of his favorite songs is Walkin’ on Sunshine and mine is your love keeps lifting me higher which is significantly sadder.
Ive had this half remembered tune I used to hum as a lullaby and it just came one this playlist and it’s over the sea to skye which is apparently very well known and also the theme to outlander.
Me five years ago: I love my babies but I cannot wait until they’re kids and I can have body autonomy again.
Right now:
In my kids health classes this week they colored themselves in a "it's ok to be me" coloring sheet and they also drew their home family and their school family, and idk it really moved me that it is officially being taught to little kids that family isn't just where you are born into but that you make family.
(from Jan 6 2022) The Standups season three is pretty good. Brian Simpson is strong. Naomi Ekperigin took a bit but I knew her from other stuff. Skipped white dude doing a weak Norm MacDonald. Janelle James is great. Wonder why I hadn’t heard of her before*. Dusty Slay has a schitck and it got me. Melissa Villaseñor (never finished writing this)
