potclean replied to your post: hey do you know why devil yuuri is popular in JP...
If you don’t mind my two cents, I think at least when it comes to the recent trend in fanart that originated in the jpn fandom, there’s no deep reason, just aesthetic due to their respective hair colors and Yuuri’s eros theme that’s often associated with temptation and lust. But imo it’s just a “ah i think this looks good” thing rather than any deep reasoning. You’re free to dislike it of course, I’m not fond of it either, I just don’t think it has any particular meaning
No I actually do agree with this.
I don’t tend to like it because when I see fanart I can’t help but imagine a whole scenario behind it, but yes I do think it in JP fandom is meant to be an aesthetic thing more than it’s meant to be any kind of statement about the characters.
potclean reblogged your photoset and added:
A correction (hope you don’t mind! I’ve just read X a gazillion times): Seiichirou never divorced his wife, he’s happily married and has a 3 years old daughter. Which is great for him but also sad because Karen is in love with him. At least I don’t remember him divorcing in the manga? Am I mistaken?? Also he’s named after CLAMP’s own editor at the time! (that’s why the character is also an editor at a manga magazine).
Thank you for this! That’s very good to know.
When I mentioned in the post that I didn’t remember much about Seiichirou, I definitely wasn’t kidding. All my knowledge was drawn from the vague mentions of him in my past liveblogs (and I barely talked about him at all) so I definitely appreciate the correction!
I'm really sorry you've been caught in tbe fandom drama just for writing something, you're always nice and helpful and you don't deserve this (nobody does). It really pisses me off to see people being targeted, bc it can really hurt some of you. Do whatever you need to feel better, even if that's leaving tumblr or stop writing, but take care and know that a lot of us support you and appreciate your ficd and your help with Russian language and customs. Sending goid vibes
Thank you, friend !!! It’s nice to hear that I’m still appreciated by the fandom for my work tbh. I don’t know what I would’ve done without the support I’ve received, it’s just been stressful. I think a little break from writing/tumblr will work, though, give myself a chance to let it go then get back to my regularly scheduled programming. Thank you again, honestly. I really do appreciate the good vibes & reminder that I have support <3
Hi! Would it be possible to post the fics I write for this a little in advance (just a fee days) on AO3 and then program the tumblr posts on the actual days? I will be travelling during that week but i really want to participate on this.
Hello!
For the event we will be setting up a Collection. Post your story as a submission to the collection (we can’t add it any other way!) and we’ll handle publishing it at the right time.
As for scheduling your post on Tumblr, that shouldn’t be a problem at all! As long as it’s tagged properly and posted during the event we should be able to find it for you.
Hope that helps!
