so... up until this year, i had only used my notecards for vocabulary study cards. the thing is, in middle school, my school supply package always included 1000 ish notecards??? every year????? so i have a lot of notecards that i didn’t use. and now in high school, i have realized their potential other than little doodles and potato drawings as actual NOTE cards
this is my take on creating and making notecards that aren’t vocabulary cards qwq
this notecard is for pre-calculus!
in general, you want to take all the really important information- the main ideas and topics and details- and sLAP IT ON
for mathematics, you want to put down formulas, definitions, rules or restrictions, and sometimes derivations it there is enough room qwq
make sure to give all the materials their own space
another tip: make sure each notecard is specific enough so it gives you enough room to put down that information that you need - so rather than making a note cards on trigometric identities, i made a notecard on each individual one, like the pythagorean identities, the cofunction identities, half angle identities-- you get the idea! ^e^
for aesthetic pleasure, i use my blue micron to outline lines and arrows
i also like to draw little banners for the titles
sometimes, if i come across any other important information in my notes (highly recommend you take actual notes before making the notecards) that isn’t already on the notecard, i will add it with the colored micron
finally, i go in with my mildliner to highlight the most prominent pieces of information or examples. i’ll color diagrams, outline key definitions, highlight mini sub-topics on the notecard. i do this so when i glance at my notecards, i’ll automatically be drawn to the most important or significant information. it also makes the notecard cuter >e<
and there you have it! a notecard!!
here is a picture of a pile of my pre-cal notecards qwq
as you can see, they all have specific topics and an adequate amount of information on each
as i stated before, please take notes before making the notecards. you could take them straight out of the book, but i find that if you take notes first, you’ll have a deeper understanding of the material and will definitely be able to differentiate the difference between relevant and irrelevant information.
these notecards are a great alternative to lugging your notes around everywhere. they are easily portable and present a concise layout for your notes.
here are all the notecards i made for some of my classes
as you can see, i made them in different colors to help me organize them and make them distinct from one another
as you can see, they don’t SOLELY and PURELY have to be EXCLUSIVE to academics--
here is my lovely drawing that i shamelessly post onto this site and a font card and extra vocabulary that i actually care to learn about
a cute way to store and organize your notecards is to take a used and empty pocky box and stick it all in there
i made little tabs to assist in the organization of the notecards ^e^
and that’s all there is to it! relatively simple and simplistically beautiful!!
i hope this helps in organizing notes or reiterating information into that lovely brain of yours!
best of luck studying and such! off you go!
