Kay’s Protection Potion

Hello my fellow witches and magick practitioners! Feeling like your house could uses a little pep-up? Below is a simple potion I’ve used to banish unwanted energies and bring balance back to The Force.

Alors, this particular potion was designed to be an easy spray to cleanse the home. It work well on windows, floors, and mirrors. But if you want to just mist your space with it, I wouldn’t say boo to the idea.

Materials

One Medium Saucepan (if you would rather use your cauldron, by all means.)

Mortar and pestle

Measuring Cup

A Whisk

Teaspoon

Tablespoon

Spray bottle

Strainer.

Ingredients 

Rosemary (1 tsp)

Garlic (1 tsp)

Black Peppercorns (1 tsp)

Salt (1 tsp)

Lavender (1 tbsp)

Water (filtered if you can) (2 cups)

Vodka (1 cup)

Lemon Juice (1 tbsp)

✍ Please Note: If you cannot find certain items, feel free to substitute. I.e. If you cannot get your hands on the peppercorns, you’re more than welcome to use regular black pepper. After all, half of any good magickal working is your intent. So, don’t be discouraged if you don’t have some of the items.

The Process

In a medium saucepan, put the vodka and water in to mix, but do not turn the burner on just yet.

In your mortar, place all the dry herbs and spices. Grind until most all of the peppercorns and salt are broken apart. (if substituting, just assure things are bruised/starting to become muddled)

Turn your liquid mixture on low heat, then add your dry components.

After about five minutes, add your lemon juice; stir the mixture clockwise, while reciting the spell. (posted below The Process)

Let simmer for 1 hour, then extinguish heat.

Without removing from burner, let it sit for an additional hour.

Strain the marc from the menstruum, then pour into the spray bottle until about 2/3 full. Fill the remaining 1/3 with water. Shake to insure proper mix. 

The Spell

“To Banish, to Cleanse,

Protect and Defend,

May this potion serve the means to its end,

Bubble and Froth, but do no ill

Ward my Home, Follow my Will,

Bring Balance, Bring Peace,

But Do No Harm,

Thusly, I complete my charm.”

Conclusion

And that’s it, friends! Get spray happy with it, or let it sit on your altar for a bit before use.  Make sure you do not keep it for longer than a week or so. I recommend returning it to the earth when you’re done with it.  I wish you happy cleansing!

idk why people complain about potion-making so much

sure, at first I messed up a couple of times

but it's actually pretty easy and I think it's fun.

it does take a long time to brew, but I just go do something else (like go on tumblr) and then I check on my potion after the allotted time.

and when I brew it correctly it gives me a sense of accomplishment.

it's really not difficult though, as long as you follow the instructions you'll get it right.
