thinking about the fact that when i taught pride and prejudice this last year i made my students go through the text and break down everything happening to Elizabeth from the moment she arrives at Pemberley to the moment she gets Darcy’s letter so that they could both see and appreciate that it is a perfect emotional arc and turning point for her expressed by Austen succinctly and accurately in relatively few lines and therefore a masterclass in a) writing, b) the human heart and how people fall in love.
we may not have won a whole lot with the splatana wiper team but it was so funny. a third person who stuck with the splatana and then ronah deciding to go with splatana wiper too. amazing. and they stuck with us despite the losses!
