angelmaker + sleeping
at first, they really struggled to share a bed. Neither of them are really used to sleeping with other people. Aoi is something of a starfish and Yusaku likes the foetal position more than he wants to admit so there was a lot of pushing and shoving on the first night
Yusaku doesn’t want to admit it but he loves sleeping in Aoi’s bed. it’s just a nice, sturdy bed unlike his rickety one back home. also, rich girl sheets are good and smell even better
Aoi is a cuddler... but not with Yusaku. Yusaku has to accept that he’s just second place to her plush toys that she still keeps. But in a way, that’s the best of both worlds for Aoi, ah to be a middle spoon
- Mod Playmaker
42 for Takeru/Ryoken
I just want to apologize in advance for the stupid that awaits you, but it came to me in a flash of inspiration and I started laughing. So I naturally had to write it.
Guest starring a suddenly tiny Playmaker.
Because. :3c
42. “For the hundredth time, I’m not your babysitter.”
📂 for Aoi if you're still up for them?
ABSOLUTELY!!!!! :D
This is sorta a 3 headcanons for the price of 1 thing but dalkfljsfa
so like . . . Akira means well, but he’s probably one of those types who’s like “YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND YET, AOI?” even though Aoi’s like “nii-sama, I’m a lesbian wtf.” And with all his duties as a CEO, he consistently forgets this fact, which greatly frustrates Aoi.
SO, after this goes on for a while, she finally decides to call Flaming Bisexual Takeru b/c they definitely exchanged phone numbers before Takeru left for his hometown and says “hey can you pretend to be my long-distance boyfriend just so nii-sama can eventually stop bugging me b/c I’m tired” and Takeru, knowing full well how Akira can be, readily agrees to this - after the initial “HOLY SHIT BLUE ANGEL IS ASKING ME TO BE HER FAKE BOYFRIEND I’M ASCENDING” reaction of course.
So whenever Akira forgets and asks Aoi “ah so about your boyfriend,” Aoi will just randomly text Takeru “hey what are you doing? nii-sama’s asking about “my boyfriend” again lol” and Takeru, who’s fully enjoying messing with Akira, is all “tell him i got my ass kicked in martial arts”
Stuff like that 😂
54 with angelmaker please!
54. things you always meant to say but never got the chance
She disappeared on her feet like a warrior. As much as a warrior could be in the hologram arms of her elder brother. Playmaker watched and his guts twisted as Blue Maiden disappeared into a cavalcade of blue and white data.
Again.
And it was his fault. Again. She was being used as an attack to get towards him. To say it was awful, would be an understatement as when she turned weightless, he suddenly felt a great and tremendous load to bear on his shoulders.
Before, Playmaker had shrugged it off. That was a few months ago now. The first time it had happened in the wake of her defeat to Spectre. She should have just stayed put. Let the people who were involved deal with it; she shouldn’t have made it her business to worm into things which weren’t her place.
It was different now.
And in this defeat of hers again, Playmaker had a sudden clarity of mind. He was a man of few words. Strong, stoic, but suddenly, he could potentially wax poetic because he was wracked with regrets. He had been trying to shed those as of late. The ten years he had spent unproductively chasing revenge rather than forging bonds. Now, he had the beginnings of them but he didn’t know what to do with them.
Blue Maiden fell and she disappeared. Taken by Lightning’s Faction as punishment for her loss and there was, unfortunately, much that Playmaker perhaps should have told her.
His name, for a start. A thank you for all her services towards him; for housing Ai’s friend, Aqua, and for being what Ryoken was to him to that girl, Miyu. His eyes watered. Perhaps he should have said other things towards her, as well. Small, mundane things: hello, goodbye, good morning, have a nice evening. Just tiny things like that, Playmaker suddenly felt well up in his mouth as he had to stomach watching Blue Maiden fall in despair and in loss.
It was unfair. He had been so confident in her skills - another thing, he should have said. Praise for skills and tactics; the way she so excellently fought, even when the odds overwhelmed her. But it was all too late now.
What about Mr. Hot Dog Man?
that’s his father’s name
20 for blueghost!
20: things you said that I wasn’t meant to hear
To her surprise, when Aoi gets to school in the morning, Spectre isn't lounging in the classroom. He and Ryouken both had cleaning duty this morning, so they should be in their seats or wandering back to class soon, but when she peers down the empty hallway, she hears no loud footsteps or voices. Strange. She arrived to class just seconds before the bell, and everyone else has already taken their places. Neither of them would be late for class, not unless some catastrophic disaster occurred.
Sighing through her teeth, she slips out the classroom door. Finding Spectre is more important than her grades, and a nestling anxiety in her chest tells her that something is going on. Something that she can't simply put aside and wait for it to resolve itself.
On her trip round the school, she only runs into one teacher who gives her a stern, "Get to class." She bows her head out of politeness, but keeps on walking out the front doors and out to the courtyards. Nowhere is Spectre and Ryouken, two students who are among the loudest of the bunch. They should stand out like daisies in a field of violets, but the courtyards are bare, with only the gentle breeze rustling the scattered cherry blossoms across the grass.
"... this the one year anniversary of your relationship anxieties?"
Ryouken. No one else can sound so confident, so assured of himself. He sounds like seventeen going on twenty-five, healthily deep and rumbling. The voice pricks her ears, but the next words have her searching round the bend.
"And the two year anniversary of my relationship."
Spectre. Defeat sits ill in his voice, pitching it like a broken record. Aoi has heard Spectre break down many times before, often with as much laughter as tears. On cue, Spectre starts his giggling glee, cracking his voice and scratching his lungs. He heaves out a final breath that tries to say, "I think I've royally fucked up."
"You can't possibly be serious."
Aoi presses herself round the corner. Spectre stands with his head bowed, arms lanky at his sides. Ryouken has himself held up like a king, arms crossed and shoulders squared. Every part of him looks right, but Spectre appears as a thrown-away toy.
"I am—"
"You had this dilemma last year, remember? I have all the texts to prove it—"
"This is different—"
"You're doubting your love to Aoi."
The air thins around her. Doubting? Anxiety seizes her chest like a vice, and she sinks towards the ground. Her knees burrow in the wet, dewy grass, and her forehead scratches the corner of the school wall. Doubt. He's doubting their relationship yet again. He's always doubting them, beating himself black and blue over what they aren't, what they should be. It's the same, repetitive, destructive self-talk that has him breaking down and considering whether or not they should truly be together.
It's happened before, last year on their anniversary. He told her they were failing as a couple, that they hardly ever acted as lovers. And he wasn't asking for them to change, and neither of them want anything but each other, but he wanted ... validation? Assurance that their love was a genuine as anyone else's. Joy in knowing that he hadn't screwed up the one aspect of his life he cared most about.
"You've already dealt with this," Ryouken says. "Why are you bringing it up now?"
"Because it's been two years—"
"And haven't those been two happy years?"
Spectre flinches. "What if Aoi is putting on an act for me? She hides herself so well—"
"Spectre, you said the exact same thing last year—"
"And I'm saying it again, damn it!"
She shouldn't be hearing this. She shouldn't be watching such a private, intimate moment between her lover and his dearest friend, but fear roots her in the spot—fear that something bad will happen, that the conclusion to this conversation will end in tears and heartbreak. She's had her own anxieties to deal with too, doubting whether their love is real, doubting whether Spectre loves her or she loves him back. They've been to the end and back, but this time ... what does this time mean ...
"Apparently it didn't get through your head the first time then." Sighing, Ryouken clumps his bangs in one hand. "If you doubt yourself this much, then you're probably going to convince yourself that you don't like her, that you two can't be in a relationship. You know, self-fulfilling prophecy and all that."
"Shut it with the psychology bullshit, you're literally taking one elective."
"Then listen to me as a friend." Ryouken grabs Spectre's shoulder, and the contact lifts his head like a magic spell. "Your relationship is what you want it to be. No one dictates the right way, nor the correct way, nor the proper way, to be in love; that's up to those involved to decide. Sure, there are wrong ways to be in love, but I doubt I need to go down that train of thought for you. After all, we had this conversation just last year."
"Last year," Spectre mumbles, dropping his chin down to his chest. "Maybe we weren't even in love last year—"
"Do you really think Aoi could fake being in love with you for an entire year? She has more self-worth than that."
The barest of a smirk flickers on her lips.
"She wouldn't keep dating you if she hates you, and whether or not you're well enough to hear that, I'll at least say it. You two have been in love for two years—two full years of ups and downs and in betweens, but certainly not the worst years of your lives. You were happy together, I know it. And beating yourself up on your anniversary is pathetic when you're just echoing the same shit you told me last year. You even told me once on the phone when you'd 'discovered the truth about love': you make it what you want it to be. If you're having relationship troubles and feeling like you're stuck in a rut, talk it out with her. She listens."
Spectre sniffles, and though his back is turned to her, Aoi sees him bring a hand up to rub at his face. "I don't want to mess up."
"Aoi forgave you the last time—and she's messed up too, if you remember correctly. Love is all about striking balance and making up for the times you both spectacularly fail."
A hollow laugh. "I guess ..."
Carefully, Aoi slips back toward the school. Her ears prick for any further conversation, any signs of hesitation, but all she hears are Spectre and Ryouken bantering now, laughing off the stress, probably embracing or patting each other on the back. She doesn't have to watch that.
As she heads back to the school, a weight lifts from her chest. After classes, she and Spectre should go to their favourite cafe and buy fancy drinks, and take them out to his favourite park—somewhere quiet and peaceful where they can rest their heads on each other's shoulders and talk through their worries and joys.
They've been together for two years and she wouldn't change it for the world.
poyomon2 replied to your post “I know it’s not gonna happen cause the ep is probs super serious an...”
I don't... think it was ever implied that he knew her identity so it'd be pretty funny because he would have no idea how she knows him
Yeah I wasn’t sure(mainly cause they’ve only interacted once irl so), as I said in the tags. But like, if anyone /had/ figured out that Ema = Ghost Girl it would be him.
Though it still works, he just starts the face hiding and heavy denial AFTER the hot dog truck is brought up cause ‘oh shit GG has seen me irl fuckfuckfuck’
