Doing this paper on invasive Giant Tawny Crazy ants SUCKS why are there no photos of their nests anywhere
Like I get it it's just detritus or whatever, rocks, fallen trees
Can we not get pictures of that?
Surely they can't just have the same looking nests as their smaller relatives...
I thought I found a study where they were measuring sabinos in the vicinity of a potential nest and they were trending larger
Surely they don't... Just make the trees bigger and fell them for more nesting...
That's scary... I don't know...
Satellite imagery shows like no grass for miles of the nest but it's so dusty from the lack of undergrowth it's like a small cloud of dirt near constantly
Okay so the aphids or whatever they have eat all the low hanging stuff and that ruins the soil interesting
They literally terraform it lowkey?? No?
There's no giant fire ants near em that's for sure so one competitor removed
Okay wow this paper says they plotted it and the median distance is like 10 km away before anyone found fire ants again
