roman's body is unmoving, limp against virgil's hands, and remus just grins, watching virgil's reactions with a sick eagerness in his gaze. there's the twisted expression of a tiger just before it pounces, and the glee and satisfaction in remus' eyes makes it obvious he's enjoying this. the blood spattered across his face and his clothes only makes his smile more unhinged, his glittering eyes menacing and cold and cruel.
the darkness of the imagination is suffocating.
" anything? " there's a mocking, mean lilt to remus' voice as he stares down at virgil.
the inky black around them has lightened -- just barely enough to be noticeable. the dark, dark grey around them shifts, the distant, muffled sound of roman's forests coming into earshot, distorted and quiet, but there, ever so slightly.
" but if he's gone, " remus starts with a sly smile, pacing in a wide circle around virgil, " then i get all of the powers. creativity becomes whole again. "
the center of roman's tunic is stained red, the gash in his chest messy and awful, the blood that had been flowing out of it noticeably slower. his hair is slick with sweat and blood, his face splattered with red. his eyes stay closed.
