so for people who don't know, i'm a teacher, and i'm genuinely considering starting a youtube channel where i teach math skills and practical skills through real-life applications
examples would be multiplying fractions/ratios in baking, estimation, multiplication, and percentages in grocery shopping w/ coupons, and/or area, perimeter, and patterns through sewing
PLEASE REBLOG FOR SURVEY SIZE!!

I am preparing questions for the final exam about microscopy.
What kind of questions would you make as a teacher?
ABCD options. (Could be just guessed)
Explain this phenomenon. (In depth understanding)
Give examples of... (Overwivew knowledge)
What woud you do if...? (Practical skills)
What are some of the practical skills magic has led you to learn?
Research is perhaps the biggest, magic is full of loose ends and rabbit holes. Being able to research and exercise critical thinking skills is a must.
I have had to learn how to draw and paint. I am by no means good, but I am better than I was. It has taught me how to write evocatively- invocations need to utilise every sense we have to fully embody the experience.
I have learned basic herbalism, including medicinal herbalism, how to make oils, balms, tinctures, teas etc. I have learned how to make magical oils and incenses.
Then theres the languages- Hebrew, Greek, and Latin being the main ones I have engaged with. Latin and Greek are useful because you can then look at most Western European languages and more or less see what a word means. It's made me research and become interested in etymology.
The most practical skill my magical practice has given me is the ability to cope with life and remain stable during hard times. Maintaining equilibrium is key.
