So many of us underestimate the effect our mental outlook has on the aging process, but studies have found a strong correlation between negativity and mental decline and physical frailty. A positive attitude is - hands-down - the absolute BEST way to keep a happy heart and create a happier life. And these are my FAVORITE ways to cultivate positivity: 1. READ! Reading exposes me to new ideas, teaches me things I probably would otherwise never learn and just gives me endless inspiration. 2. PRACTICE POSITIVITY! Life is always challenging me - and it can be super-tempting to knock myself for this or that or just get generally down when things don't work out the way I want - but these are all opportunities for me to practice finding the positive in trying times. They are there. 3. TAKE TIMEOUTS! I have to remind myself to stop sometimes and just take a personal timeout so that I can refill my emotional tank. I believe there's a reason for most everything that happens. I also believe that the handful of random awful things that don't make sense happen for no real reason at all; other than luck - be it bad luck or good luck. I am relatively healthy and my diet plays a huge role in that but I still struggle with my reproductive health. It's a common issue and not the kind of topic I'd normally openly discuss with the free world but I think it's important to be open and I also think this is my way of making sense of it. When you talk about things that happen it helps. Just when I find myself feeling strong and invincible I am reminded just how fragile our bodies can be. For this reason, I think no one should ever die before knowing just what their body is truly capable of. Love the body you've got. Take care of it. Put it first and appreciate it.
