When the baby was just barely one year old. There was a time when we were in Tagaytay almost every other week when he was younger, and up until recently, at least once a month, so he has so many memories of being there. I hope it gets better for Tagaytay, and most especially for Batangas. Once evergreen, teeming with life and bustling with tourists, Taal together with it’s nearby communities is now a picture of devastation. A ghost town. GROUND ZERO. . . I don’t see too many posts here on IG about what’s happening in the Philippines. Maybe there are a lot of people posting but these posts are buried in picturesque landscapes, make up tutorials, tik tok videos and other posts that people may deem more worthy of going viral. . . It is just starting and yet it has caused so much destruction with the ashfall covering Metro Manila and even reaching as far as Central Luzon causing the suspension of classes and offices. We are worried that this will be a very hazardous and devastating eruption. If activity ramps up, Taal is capable of producing all three of the deadliest volcanic hazards: tsunamis, mudflows, and superheated flows of gas and debris. . . Wherever you are in the world, I hope you pray for the Philippines, for Filipinos, especially those who have been displaced, lost their homes, their families and loved ones, their pets, their belongings, their farms, and livelihood. Pray for the animals who are still wandering the ash-covered streets, hungry, thirsty, and confused. And if and whenever you can, please help in anyway you are able to and share what is happening so that other people may extend their help as well. . . Throwing it back to the first time I ever saw the majestic #TaalVolcano crater last April 2014 with my bestfriend, his hubby & my brother.
