I got a few requests on how to make this;

type of edit. You can see the whole edit here. 

It’s actually very simple and if you wanna learn just keep on reading

I use photoshop cs5 but his should work on other versions of photoshop as well. I don’t know if works on other programs but feel free to try it out and tell me! I find all my pictures on my pinterest, you can check it out here.

I’m gonna do just one picture and line but you can add however many pictures and lines you want! As well as change the position of them etc. This is a very adaptable and easy edit to make. 

1. Ok so first open ps with a colored background (i’ll be using black for this.) 

2. Use the rectangular marquee tool to make a part of it white with help from the paint bucket tool. This will be where your photo(s) will go. 

3. Add your photo and arrange it so it’s almost even with the black edge. When you’re happy with your placing switch place with the black layer and white layer so the white layer is at the bottom. Then use the rectangular marquee tool again to make a very very thin line. Hit delete while your picture is marked so that a thin stripe is created. While still keeping the thin stripe with the rectangular marquee tool hit delete again, this time while marking the black layer of your edit. Now you should have ended up with a thin white stripe separating the picture and your background. 

4. Add your text! I’m using a font called “Karla”. 

5. Ok so we’re almost finished, now you just need to sharpen/adjust brightness/vibrance etc. and add one or two psd’s to make the whole edit look more aesthetic-y. Now you can call it a day because your edit is probably flawless. However, if you want to add a sparkling gif or something like that keep reading. 

6. Ok so now for the sparkling effect. I’m not going to make a tutorial on how to make them, because there’s already an amazing tutorial by @brooklynnbros, you can find it here. 

This glittery gif is a tad too small and instead of stretching it I’ll duplicate the layer to keep a higher quality to it.

Instead of putting the glitter effect on “screen” I put it on “lighten”. 

I like this more than screen because the glitter effect is more subtle. But feel free to test other alternatives! 

7. Click on window, then animation to get here:

Make sure you’ve dragged the small blue control so it ends where your glitter gifs ends. Otherwise the glitter animation will stop suddenly. Usually the small blue dot is located where the X is. 

8. When saving make sure you save it for “ Save for Web & Devices...” and the animation loop corner is marked with forever and NOT once. I can not stress this enough. Make sure the animation loop is on forever. Otherwise the animation will just roll once! 

9. Save it. Publish it. And you’re finished!!
