I swear I remembered some images of her from before Enchant came out when it was very Elizabethan era and right before the faeries hit. I can't find any of them online past the cover of On a Day. Any ideas?
Check out the Gallery.
The Dove photoshoot is pre-faerie and there are some other albums that might fit. There's not much, though.

Hey Emilie I just saw u and your band play for the first time at the sominage sound gallery 2000 with my favorite local band three quarter sexbolt. I was very impressed. Your band sounds great and you have a very beautiful voice. My girlfriend loved your performance. She said ur outfit was just adorable. It blew mind that you are able to play violin and sing at the same time with so much skill. And the guitar player. WOW! that was impressive, if u get my drift. Well anyways me and my love will be sure to catch another show of yours as soon as we can. Keep up the good work. And keep writing your beautiful music.
Best of luck.
Josh
P.S. Does trisha star do your hair. I was just curious it looks like her work . She's gonna do my dreds for me.
Thanks for the lovely words. We quite enjoyed that show - our first entirely lantern-lit performance! Yes, those Three Quarter Sex Bolt lads are delightful. Did you happen to catch the dancing boy who was attempting the daring feat of doing fan-kicks while his trousers were falling off? He ought to get a medal! While my garb is a combination of Enchant C&C and whatever I can pull out of the forest in time for the show, I must admit to doing my hair myself (deadly fear of hairdressers). My guitar player, Ben Lehl, will be glad to hear you liked his performance (sad how little credit the band gets...). Oh, and write I shall, nothing less than six songs per day.

I was at the Danville, Il. show and was totally blown away by the perfomance. I knew she was good from listening to the demo, but my god!!! Emilie is really nice too. I talked with her for a while there.
I was wondering how I could get information on booking her to play here in Danville again, maybe for a private party instead of an actual show. Thanks for coming here the first time and exposing us to your great music! If someone could help me out with that info, i would greatly appreciate it.
How sweet! I loved playing Danville. An unusual venue, but one of the best audiences we ever had the pleasure of playing for. I am delighted to be nice most of the time as my general cruelty and celebrityesque rudeness is used up on the band backstage. As to booking, I regret to say my schedule rarely allows private parties, especially my own. I do ocassionally play tea parties however for a selection of my favorite (stuffed) animals. With all luck, the tour will take me back to Danville again and we can make the theater into one giant private public party.
Enchantingly Yours,
EA

Emilie
Well hello. One doesn't meet a fellow Emilie every day, now does one? Did you know that I am planning to tour schools with the intention to play specifically for 5th graders? Perhaps we shall meet then (wouldn't it be shocking if we looked alike?!).
Enchantingly Yours,
EA
Just wanted to say great show last eve. Picked up the "On a Day..." disc (made you sign over your pic - sorry) and it is unbelievable. Very much looking forward to the new LP (Chambermaid, incidentally, might be the best song of all time). Hey - the Chicago Reader needs to do a story about you. I'm not connected to them in any way, but I know they accept submissions from the public at large. Your bio on the disc was quite intriguing - so I figured I would check in on the matter. I'm quite the decent writer - so let me know.
Tim
You are too kind and I am veritably blushing! Should you wish to write anything such as an article, interview, etc., you have my personal permission to contact my management, RAM, at [email protected]. They will be happy to speak with you.
Due to the difficulty involved in keeping the message boards a peaceful and appropriate outlet for fans, we have decided to make this board a place for Emilie to post her messages to YOU. Emilie will visit the board regularly and post as often as possible, giving you first-hand information, news, and thoughts.
We encourage you to write to Emilie directly with your questions and comments, and she will answer as many letters as is humanly possible within her increasingly demanding schedule. Emilie may choose to post bits of the letters she receives on this board as well. You may send mail to Emilie Autumn at [email protected].
Greetings again, I hope you have all been hanging in there and doing well. I've been performing as usual, with a few program changes to reflect the times, namely, the regular addition of "By The Sword" and the "Star Spangled Banner." My live band has learned BTS with excellent speed and so well that, in a recent concert review, it was named as the most polished song in the set. As for the "Star Spangled…," that continues to be a nerve-wracking song to play as it relies heavily on the audience to make it come off right. In an odd Time like this, one never knows what sort of reaction the national anthem will get, but I am counting on our collective need to give our country a hug and it hasn't failed yet. What I would most like to do right now is to play for those who have been directly victimized by the recent attacks, those in hospitals, those without a place to go. If there is any way to simply go to these people and play my violin for an hour or two, giving them the comfort and human soul that instrument can magically impart, you can bet I will find it.
In my previous post, I'd gone on a short rant about the necessity of creativity in these harsh Times. Thus, I was thrilled to receive a submission to the Board by a visitor to the site, a very beautiful poem. I encourage all to send me their creations, be it random thoughts, poetry, essays, artwork, etc., and I will do my best to post them and share them with other visitors via this Board. Following is the poem I received, may you all enjoy it. My thanks to its author, Rasheed.
Concierto de Aranjuez by Rasheed, 4-23-01, 1:02 am
Explanation:
This is more about a girl I used to know than it is about music. I left this poem on her blue car one day and never got to talk to her about it until two months later, when we were on a park bench alone with July night & moon & friends in the distance that stayed in the distance. There are 11 syllables in each line because i like the image of the two 1's standing together: two individuals, like me and her! There is one meaning accessible to readers and another hidden meaning of which only the three of us (she, I, bent finger of first-quarter moon watching from the universe) know. I haven't talked to or seen her since then, and I don't think I ever will.
Concierto de Aranjuez
We've listened to this adagio before.
You sat across from me on our holy bus,
brown corduroy jacket wrapped around your waist,
Vita Nuova bashfully in your hand,
CD's in your backpack that we traded,
listened to at night, ruminated over.
We told each other that our music was good,
and that we were good, and that our souls were good,
and that the world and its soul were also good.
Rodrigo has a way with the guitar; he
can make it heavenly even surrounded
by thick patches of cold bus speaker static.
One night I listened to him, violin in
my arms, and fell asleep blear-eyed and dizzy,
drunk with so much light. It seems things have changed now-
now that you've grown up and I've failed to do so,
now that you hide from the humble reflection
of my eyes reflecting your eyes reflecting
the world and all of its lonely, half-dead eyes,
now that the half-hour eternities of bus-
ride conversations are relegated to
some unvisited fragment in our sad minds,
now that you've become the society drone
we'd convinced each other we'd never become.
You gave in, bought the clothes the empty people
wear, and got rid of your corduroy jacket.
Dante became old and shallow, the way he rambled.
And Rodrigo, well, it was time to move on.
In autumn, desire-bodies died with trees,
were shed like purposeless dismal leaves, and burned.
I thought it would be you and I storming the
city from the outskirts and breaking every
fucking neon sign and streetlight and motor
until it was just the two of us standing
and existing under the sky and stars, the
rest of existence blurring and cancelling out.
When did you forget that Rodrigo and Dante
were beautiful? When did you forget that you
and your soul were beautiful? We didn't need
to grow up and see the world growing with us,
we needed an adagio like this one,
a Rodrigo adagio, to wake us
and let us know that we were never empty
like the dim city or its dim people, that
we were glowing brighter with each passing day.
It was our adagio, our caravan
barrelling into the dawn, by the will of
the love which moves the sun and the other stars.
I have a million and one things to do so I am signing off for the moment, but thanks for reading, listening, and being strong. Very special thanks to all of you who have purchased "By The Sword."
I thought I'd take a few moments on this chilly evening to (again) advocate Tea Parties. Really, you must have them. In fact, if you don't have them, you stand in very serious violation of the TCB (Tea Cup Brigade), which requires at the very minimum four Tea Parties per month. Well, I just made that up, but if there were such a Thing as the TCB, I do not doubt they would require four Tea Parties, if not six. With so many varieties of Tea available These Days, one has absolutely no excuse for not drinking Tea, unless one is suffering from the dreaded condition "TeaLeafIntolerance" so oft' spoken of on reputable late night cable networks.
But the really extraordinary Tea Party requires Tea of an extraordinary nature and the preparation of this beverage is what I will now convey to you. I call this concoction "Elizabethan Chai Tea," and I have been known to survive on nothing more for days at a time. While I don't recommend this, I do recommend serving it at your next Tea Party. The recipe is as follows:
1 Tbsp fennel or anise seed
6 cardamom pods
12 cloves
1 cinnamon stick
1/4" ginger root
1/4 tsp black pepper corns
2 bay leaves
6 Tbsp honey
7 Cups water
1 Cup milk (or soymilk for those who share my nasty habit of veganism)
2 Tbsp black tea
First, you ought to crush your cardamom pods to release the seeds. Then, slicing your ginger very thinly would be nice. Once done, you may feel quite secure in putting the first everything but the black tea into a saucepan and bringing it to a boil, with a good stir every once in a while. At a boil, reduce the flame and let the mixture simmer for five minutes while you go and change the CD in your stereo, decide it didn't need changing, and change it back. After five minutes have passed, add your tea leaves and remove your pot from the flame. Covered, let it all steep for another five minutes. Lastly, serve it hot to your guests (people or stuffed animals) while telling witty stories about serious things.

Dearest Plague Rats,
Emilie Autumn here. I am taking a second to welcome you to the Asylum’s Official Forum, and to explain why I’ve willed it into existence. Rather, let’s talk about why I have NOT wanted a message board up before now. Reason one, the last time I had a muffin forum, it was abused, as I think ALL message boards are abused. We had everything from people posting under my name in an attempt to convince others that they were in fact ME, to people who wanted their money back on an album of mine because they were incensed that I showed my belly button and therefore “sold out.” I’ve taken a lot of time away from all that, learned not to read posts on other boards that people send me, learned not to be in the same room when someone does an internet search on my name, because, honestly, it freaks me the fuck out. It really does.
BUT...
I had a nice talk with a friend the other day that explained to me that none of this matters. On her site, she hosts a message board that is one of the highest traffic communities on the net. She directs a great deal of traffic to mine every day. And the response I received from those new friends and listeners has been absolutely lovely. I am giving you this tiny space on the the net to talk to me, to talk to eachother, to spread the word about the things you care about, because I trust you.
When someone acts up in prison, the guards take on a very passive role. They say, “If any one person does this deed again, you will all lose telephone privileges for 6 months.” That’s it. And it’s brilliant, because they know that the prisoners will take care of it amongst themselves. They know that, the next day, one guy will have a lot of bruises, and nothing more will be said about it. And, it won’t happen again.
I am trusting all of you to keep this board pure. I’m not talking about language. Fuck no. I’m talking about intent. Slander will not be tolerated, nor will spamming, impersonation of me or anyone else, or dangerous solicitations. And hell, if I, or one of my moderators, see a post that defies the intention of this board, it will be deleted and the IP of the poster will be taken note of. But you will not be censored. You may freely express your opinions about anything you choose, and if you hate one of my songs or something I wore, go ahead and talk about it. That’s just dandy. I think we all get the idea, common sense, right?
So, all that being stated, I’d like to end by saying that I approach each and every one of you, old listeners and new, with respect and profound appreciation. Keep that in mind during your stay here.
Oh, and Ladies, if you’re looking for a place to discuss your strategies for world domination, this is the place to do it.
You are all welcome.
Go have a cup of tea, and stop looking at this screen, it makes your eyes wonky.
