Giving Vore centered worlds and settings sustainable populations.
Many vore-themed settings have a small problem with population control.
Generally the problem is that there is too much of it. Walking down the street seeing dozens of preds wolfing down several prey each.
It's not really an issue. This is a fetish that is unrealistic by it's very nature.
But for some people, myself included, things being too unbalanced can distract from enjoying the arousing scenes being depicted.
It's not about being realistic. It's simply about making enough pseudo sense that it doesn't distract from what makes this all so hot.
So, below you'll find some rough math that puts this into perspective. While also giving another option for a setting.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If a predator were to eat 3 people a day every day for 1 year they would have reduced 1,095 people to shit and bones.
If preds were 1 in a million, with 8.3 billion people on earth now, there would be 8,300 predators on earth.
Every year 9,088,500 people would fall prey to predators.
If preds ate 1 person per day that would drop to 3,029,500 people.
Current census, in the real world right now, estimate 130 million people are born every single year.
With 60-61million people dying each year on average.
Preds would barely add 3-9million people to that census.
For the 8,300 preds to stop population growth they would have to eat 23-24 people per day.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Simply by making preds rare, 1-2 in a million honestly.
They can fit into a world without causing a slow extinction.
If they were one to two in a million there'd be an interesting spread of preds as well.
•Australia 28-56
•France 69-138
•Greece 10-20
•Ireland 7-14
•Italy 58-116
•Japan 124-248
•Spain 49-98
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A day in the life of a pred, if they were being casual and at least trying to be slightly subtle about it.
They'd probably only eat 1-2 people per day. If they were doing other things on top of that.
Depending on the preds personality, theyight eat less on the weekend, maybe they like to get to know their dinner, maybe it makes it sweeter.
Or maybe they go hog wild on the weekends, swallowing and ab crunching at the club like nobody's watching while relishing the knowledge that everyone certainly is.
These statistics show that that is more than sustainable population wise.
This is just statistics, I intend to write apost on an actual setting I have been using for years.
For now I hope this was helpful and can help some people who do find themselves getting hung up on the background logistics and how a world could possibly function.
Those who despite their best efforts to avoid thinking about it find it still gets in the way.
Ultimately, most of the settings you see could work.
Preds just can't be incredibly common. Or, if they are common enough, they can't all have an appetite in the double digits.
Hope this helps writers and readers.
