how i found stray kids:

so i always call my best friend at night, right? we were talking and then she sort of shrieks and goes- “JYP HAS A NEW BOY GROUP AND THERE’S A MUSIC VIDEO?!” we then watched hellevator together and it clearly changed my life forevermore. i remember jisung and chan and felix terrorizing me (although i didn’t know who they were yet haha)

how my blog began:

actually fun fact when i was making my tumblr there were some good urls open, like “strayk1ds” or “thestraykids”, but i was all noooo i can’t just do a variation of straykids because i like branding and stuff like that- so strayboys was born.

it was a side blog underneath another main blog before i moved it to an unused main blog of mine.

i first made content on jan 2nd! i think i deleted my first content post tho because it was ehhhh- but i remember getting 60 notes on my first post and i was amazed because my 1k+ blogs barely got 20 notes because of the egotistical fandoms i were in. they weren’t kpop, don’t worry. but this fandom is vastly different from the others i’ve been in- and i thank you all for that!

i remember getting 200-300 followers in my first week, & like actually having interactions with y'all… you all are so incredibly nice (and hilarious) that it hurts my heart 🌤️

Hello I'm Lexi! I got into Stray Kids after seeing an interview of Chan gifed on Tumblr during their elimination show. He was so genuine and I could tell how great of a leader he would be from his words and so I was immediately interested. I watched Hellevator and fell in love with their rap heavy, meaningful music and synchronized choreography. I decided to make a SK blog at the end of December and it was the best decision ever! The boys are so wonderful I can't wait to see them grow!

i first saw stray kids while i was browsing through some k-pop music videos. I watched hellevator and liked it but didn’t bother going back to it (bad habit lol).

then in january (unfortunately exam season lmao), my good friend in a group chat of mine told someone to watch stray kids so he had someone to cry with. me, being the great friend that i am, decided to watch the show.

oh my god - what a ride. the rehearsals, the missions, the goddamn eliminations - it all felt strangle close to me.

i think one of the reasons i love stray kids so much is that jeongin is only about a year older than me, but he’s worked so hard and gotten so far, which led me to appreciate him - and all of them - so much for their young age. they’ve inspired me too - maybe to try taking my love for music a bit more seriously.

thank you, stray kids, for your dedication, ambition and warm smiles. i’ll continue to support you!

so this’ll be my #predebutbeaconmeetup post,, the drawing is a sketch of a Chan I plan complete (watercolour) by tomorrow night.

but anyway I kinda wanna share how I came to be a fan of stray kids, as they were the first ever K-pop group I got into. so,, my friends had always wanted me to be into bts. me, being stubborn, never said no but never complied. until one fateful day. my friend found hellevator and thought it was hilarious, and not gonna lie, I did to; and we’re making jokes that if I was ever into kpop this would be the stuff I listen to. now they weren’t wrong. this continues for about a week until sk trend on tumblr (because of ot9) and I’m like: “what the hellevator, amirite”. me and my friend were so confused to the point that I had to figure out what was going on. I found thier show. binged it in 2 days. and I was completely gone. my dash was filled with them. I couldn’t stop talking about them. and I got my friend onto them. that has all lead to now. where I have bought both thier albums, I’m completely invested in them and can’t wait to see how the improve and grow as people and as performers.

they (especially Chan and his work ethic,) have pushed me to better myself. and they have introduced me into a whole new community that are kind and supporting.

I can’t wait to see how far they, and us as fans, will go.
