🕯 Dating story, which like my random recipes may sometimes share, tehe.

I recently met a great guy, our personalities and humor similar and he is handsome and has a great career. Not that that is what matters, but dating someone who has stability and you find attractive is nice.

Anyway, we are both Christians, and yesterday I told him that because of my faith I don’t have premarital sex. He has not yet responded. I will say this as a Christian woman dating: I have met many professing Christian men who want to have sex before marriage, which is contradictory to scripture. It’s sad to say, but even with these men who apparently share my beliefs I have to advise them that I live out my beliefs.

I’m actually relieved in a way when a man loses interest at the awareness of who I am because it feels, truly, like I’m no longer wasting my time nor his and I am closer to my true man. So, it actually ushers in a refining and simplicity into dating and brings relief. I’m not attracted to a man who doesn’t have scriptural convictions and seeks by God’s grace and strength to obey Him. We all need grace, forgiveness and mercy and I believe no one is perfect - however, that is also no excuse to not acknowledge a sin pattern or choice, repent (to turn back) and live moving forward seeking God’s desires for our lives.

I’ve made poor, sinful choices in the past - fed up with waiting. It was unfruitful and lonely in my life, there is nothing compared to communion with God and honoring Him and others by living out what we profess to be. To embody love, forgiveness, patience - and true to our convictions that God’s ways are not our own and are far, far better.
