Prep Essentials
I want to preface this list by saying that these are my personal "essential" preppy items. There are so many different types of prep, but this list embodies what I think of as preppy here on the Pacific coast. (That's why there's no lilly, I love Lilly, but it's not a huge deal here.)
1. PEARLS - earrings and necklaces.
2. BOAT SHOES/LOAFERS - Dockers, Sperry, Ralph Lauren ...
3. KNITS - acquire a knit sweater in ever color and every print.
3. OXFORDS - have various colors and prints to pair with your sweaters.
4. MONOGRAM - a necklace, a ring, a phone case ... try to have one monogramed item that's always with you.
5. HUNTER RAINBOOTS - the classic rainboot is a seasonal necessity.
6. CRITTER PANTS - they're just so fun in the summertime.
7. BLAZERS - class up casual wear.
8. LIP GLOSS - simple and feminine.
9. BEAN BOOTS - classic and warm for those cold winter months up North, match them with cozy printed cabin socks.
10. BANGLES - Kate Spade, Tory Burch, J.Crew ...
11. SIMPLE FLATS - the universal shoe.
12. SHEP SHIRT - this is one of the few items on this list I haven't got ahold of.
13. PUFFER VEST - perfect pair with jeans on an autumn day.
14. RIDING BOOTS - class up skinny jeans.
15. CHINOS - various colors.
